Cape Town Marathon

Cape Town Cycle Tour

Seems part of a bigger marketing campaign for the city in terms of eco-tourism. anyone have insights on this level?

Common sense really. New York marathon. London marathon. Ride London. Etc

True, but i'm hoping the common sense extends to someone lighting a fire under SANPARKs and the other powers that be to really get stuck into developing MTB more than the lip service they are currently paying it now. Still burning a candle for a Cape Town MTB tour around the whole table mountain range. Not to mention more DH trails

So the rugby stadium, what's it called now? Sahara Park Newlands? everyone just say: "are you going to Newlands this weekend"?  Nashua Cobras? Cobras.  Vodacom Bull , everyone says 'die bulle' so it will take awhile for the CTCT to catch on,

I can still see people saying: "did you enter the Argus?" "how is the Argus training going?"

Can't be phased by a name change, still 109km's, and you still gotta crank those legs up bossie (Suikerbossie).

But big up to the sponsors for playing game, its a big ask to let go, especially for The Argus who was there from the start

I like this a thousand times and add my voice to get SANParks to wake up. They might even make a few million every year if they do it in partnership with the Cycle Tour Trust. Perhaps time to turn that candle into a flash-bang to wake them up?

Super system they have! I've done 15 consecutive Argus' rides and I didn't get the preferential entry invitation!

The last time I looked its not the PPA members in Cape Town that contribute to the tourism (hence the name change), but the people from up north that come and spend their cash in Cape Town.
