But then as we do not usually browse for borderline porn sites, the targeted advertising engines do not send us more of the stuff we are interested in.To show how poor the targeted advertising is on this site, I'm now being offered a Lexus (the target market for a Lexus is old men of at least 90+ who are tired of living) and to make matters worse, its offering me a discount in USD.

Your opinion on Lexus is rather naive. Trust me Lexus is not targeted at 90+ people. As for digital advertising you really don't understand a thing. Lexus is a premium car. cyclists are pretty wealthy in this day and age and many of them are likely to have premium cars. Hence the advert. You are one dude, you know how many people hit this site a day. Then added to that your internet activity probably corresponds to a 30-45 year old white male. That is active online in keeping up to date with your hobbies as well as current news and finance sites.... It's amazing what we can tell

isn Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Another three and a half months and this thread will be running a year. In this time nothing has happened as far as a separate section for the retailer. Clearly as is evident that many users of the hub prefer having retailers in between for their own reasons because of the few complaints. The setup creates the market for for everyone who is buying, selling and reselling. It works as is.

So basically misleading adds.
davem Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Limit the posting of ads to one every 15 min. That way you don't get a block from one retailer. Those genuine spammers will go away.

It's not a private guy with his used bargain, it's a new bike or a new whatever all the time.It's not the same.

Since yesterday morning, they are now on page 6, so 100+bikes. And there's loads of dealer's calling themselve's an owner too - so you can't even filter them out properly. I don't think dealers should be excluded, but come bring adverts with specials or something different. Don't just dump your catalogue at RRP. edit:i do understand that it's currently change of seasons so some shops will be clearing their old stock.

That was my point, I don't mind seeing retailers trying to get rid of something at a special price, but if I just want to buy something there are plenty of online shops that I can shop at. The classifieds should be for individuals or special deals.Taking R2k off RRP on a new bike is not a special...
