Can one fit the "swat box" @ the bottle cage holder to any bike or will I need the spaz side entry cage to fit the box to my Merida full suspension?

You cannot buy a swat box except in a kit with bottle cages included - at vast cost.

Yea I've seen the "kit" price on the net, seriously ridiculously priced but I still think that the swat box is a great idea. [emoji34] [emoji20]

Ps Thanks for the reply.

IT is a great idea - but spez won't even provide spares for broken boxes to spez owners - want you to buy a kit - which is insane

Perhaps look at the new Momsen "lunch" box, it is made by Profile design and also fit on bottle cage bosses.

Doesn't the SWAT box need a dedicated bolt position on the frame?

Edit:

indeed it does:

Before you go out and purchase a SWAT toolset like the Plastic SWAT box, be sure your frame is compatible as this pack requires an extra mounting hole on the frame.  The SWAT multi-tool setup however should work on any bike provided there is enough clearance for the cage and tool.

Contacted Momsen re this before 06:00 this am, got a reply before 08:00 already, they only have the integrated top tube bag for now. As on their website

According to Coimbra George R1599 incl 2x cages, swat box complete with tools etc. Can't be bought separately.

I think SWAT is crap unless its the real deal i.e inside the frame under the bottle cage. The external version looks awful. If you have to have a box or bag - just stick a decent saddle bag on. I use a pack or stick my tools in a ziplock bag in my cycling shirt.

.

I will also not place it on my top tube, rather the second bottle cage in frame or on the seatpost with cage mountings. Personally I care my spares in my back pocket...till the misses and I took n nice leisure ride, me showing of and popping a wheelie on my backside.

Have checked with Specialized and received the following info.

· The SWAT box has been designed for Specialized SWAT compatible framesets only.

· There are small spare parts available for SWAT such as bolts, tool bits and tyre levers which can be purchased through an Authorized Specialized retailer.

· The reason one cannot purchase the SWAT box as a single item is so that the rider does not have compatibility issues, prevents agitation for the rider sourcing parts and trying to get parts that might or do not fit SWAT box ect.
