The worst thing my LBS ever said to me was...'That will be $$$, please'

the only thing scarier is if they say it in "pound signs" .... $$$ is still fair language!

I once swore at a car.

But then again the car did cut me off and nearly killed me after jumping a stop sign.

So there must be more to this story.

But the car didn't swear at you so you are obviously in the wrong  :whistling:

Best service center in Cape Town bar none. If you into MTB, whether it be DH, DJ or XC, these are the guys you want to service your bike. Road bike service? No problem. My LBS of choice. Every time.

Your “bike hand over” was excellent which enabled me to offer assistance to other riders who were technically less well-off!

Your advice of bike components was superb with the net result being that I had a hassle free ride. Considering the terrain we crossed, weather conditions we grappled with and, at times, the minimum effort spent on bike maintenance for 100’s of kilometres, to have an admin free ride was quite remarkable.

It definitely has exceeded my expectations, and I am already able to go down single tracks much faster than before, while still feeling safe! Cycling friends who in the past. Had to wait for me at the end now have to move over so I can pass them! I Feel much more confident and exhilarated when I ride, even when on the more technical single tracks in our area. Once I had done one or two rides on the bike I took it to Daisy Way, and had Spook Groenewald set the bike up for me. He moved my cleats slightly further back, and dropped the handle bars a little, and also adjusted the angle of the handle bars. I would also like to compliment you on your very professional way that you spec-ed the bike. The critical components are top quality and I am sure will give me many kilometres of exciting cycling, and the less important components that you used helped to keep the overall cost of the bike affordable. I am now very comfortable on the Santa Cruz and look forward to my next ride. Thanks again for a great buying experience.

I brought an older bike in to get tuned up. Marco and his assistant work on the bikes personally and did an excellent job of being considerate about my budget while also providing excellent value and service. I highly recommend Action Cycling.

I for one will never go to this shop!

Not a problem, seeing as you're up north and the shop in question is in Cape Town city centre...

Add to that the vast majority of CT hubbers know Marco and Devon personally, through either interactions with them in the shop, or on Enduro / XC / DH events locally. We pretty much know these guys well enough to call BS on the OP's post and say that there is definitely more to the story than Marco just saying Fkoff.

Ok, I suppose it is my fault. We’ve been watching “The Sopranos” the whole weekend and started watching the “The Godfather” Monday evening. You can’t hold a responsible for one liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitle mistake, capish? Get the fu*k outta here!

I'll bet the OP brought his shipment of CRC goodies for Marko to fit and then wanted a discount on the labour. I would told him to EFF off too under those circumstances

If you're going to throw accusations around, back them up. Otherwise at worst it's slander,

Slander is verbal defamation. If in print, as per the OPs post, its Libel.

Does it really matter what the two sides of the story are?  He'll have his and I'll have mine

yasis, talk about hitting rock bottom, and then handing yourself a shovel...

Mmmmmm.........funny how everyone assumes the OP is wrong and now want to sling dirt at him!

Well he has had more than enough time to put his case forth, yet he has not.

The original post is far too thin on info

I echo this comment fully. I use to live in Somerset over 10 years ago and rode the WP DH series at the time. I use to know Marco personally through interactions at races and sometimes at his shop....

I've been dealing with Action Cycling for the past two years and always rated their service up until an hour ago - Marco's last words to me today: "Get the f#ck out of my shop and never come back" - That after I paid him R1,200 for a fork and headset service last week!!!

Sure Marco, I will do that and yes I will never be back. Just last week I still recommended someone to go there - Guess what, I will not be doing that anymore.

Don't go back.

Problem solved.

I don't know the shop or owner and don't have an axe to grind here but why the need to whine in public, what can you possibly achieve? This isn't going to go well that's for sure.

If you posted in anger your best course now is to ask admin to bin the thread before this goes completely south.
