I have noticed that Multichoice is now punting their Sport in a big way, how do you get around the sport, are all the sport available elsewhere as pay per view? or do I go to the nearest pub and have a couple of cold ones.

I user TVTAP for live TV. There's also a thing called LIVE NET TV. I've not tried that yet. You can get live sport on there. There are also other streaming platforms like Batman Streams (don't know if that still works)

Otherwise go to the pub and get schidtfaced and Uber home. It will still work out cheaper than DSTV.

www.sport365.live/en/home and www.livestreamrugby.com/live-stream-rugby-free/ works for me on the laptap - sadly doesn't work on Kodi.

I've watched the Rugby Championship, EPL games, the Ryder Cup, and a host of other adhoc sports with minor problems.

what Frosty said. if you have a solid grasp of IT and such then get a Raspberry Pi or something similar, install Kodi and run Sportsdevil, and the sports world becomes your oyster. If not, then there are websites like sport365, vipbox, livestream etc etc as long as you accept that you will have to dodge the odd pop-up ad.

gone are the days of watching k@k because there's nothing better on TV!

I installed TVTAP a while ago and bounce between that and Mobdro. However..... I am battling with buffering and haven't had any luck with a continuous stream (on both platforms)

We have a 20Mb VDSL line at home that only really gets up to about 12-14Mb on a good day.

Are there any solutions that can solve the buffering issue? Eg Real Debris?

Real Debrid solved most of my buffering problems (when the line was working properly). Although I have not tried with the above 2.

Used to struggle with LTE, on a good day was getting around 8mb/s , thankfully as of last week I have 20Mb/s fibre line. Much happiness

I find LiveNetTV the best of the live TV apps, gives you several streams to choose from. I have a 4mps (3mbps in reality) and I sometimes have buffering problems, but often not.

To be honest, only really watch live TV for the sport.

I have a bunch of them, so can switch if ones not working:

OneBox

RedBox

etc

Have BlueStacks on my PC, which is sometimes better than trying to watch through the TV Box (have no idea why!).

I've installed a few external roof mounted LTE antennas that have worked wonders for LTE connections, whipping it up to 30-50 Mbps - about R2k + all in .

had an indoor external antennas connected.

It was not so much a signal problem but a congestion issue. Come 8pm and speeds were sometimes down to around 1Mb/s.

  • 2 weeks later...

Been off DSTV for more than a month now, feels so Good!

We are more civilized, we actually speak to each other more and eat at the dinner table.

What's the phrase the young one's use these days...?

Miss me DSTV...
