Wannabe Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 I found it to be very easy for a person of colour to allege / charge that a white person called him the K word. The accusers word is then always taken as truth, and the whitey must proove that he did not use the word. A very convenient situation, this. Before the okes is drawn, quartered and hung, wait for the official investigation to be concluded.
DARK KNIGHT Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 One needs to distinguish what the course of events were at the time as various acts which were executed need to be dealt with accordingly.. If there was a little rub and tug within the bunch (whether it be written or unwritten rules within the peleton) the boys need to sort this out within the bunch.. its like soccer / rugby etc etc etc, there will be a little holding back, nip here and there! its all part of the sport!! we see guys get shoved in the TDF, handlebars touching etc etc.. The fact that one party has decided to racially abuse the next is taking it to a totally different level. This must be dealt with accordingly. There is no grey area here.. if you're a racist then you need to feel the full wrath of the law as you were bold enough to label a human being with a term, and therefore need to be just as bold when explaining yourself in court!
Bikes Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 The article clearly tells the story from 1 side only. I have seen too many instances where we are fed half the facts and lead to believe the truth the media want us to believe. Until I see an article with a response from CSA as well as the other riders involved, perhaps even a witness or too also, I will not react or take sides. The fact that it was published as it was means CSA and the other "allegedly offending" cyclist was approached. Simple journalistic code of conduct.

Wyatt Earp Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Race, it's not only the chequered flag that needs to worry .The world will never change till the day we all put our big boy pants on .
TALUS Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 I thought I am used to the Hub by now! Surely we are a bit light on facts here.
Bloukrans Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Hier kom groot Kaka!! What if the oke shout "hey djy kaka!" and Kaka thought he called him the ..............word.
Eldron Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Man I can't wait for the full story to come out. I love thehub's response to threads like this: burn them burn them ALLLLLLL. What? Oh. There are facts? Fark that. BUUUURN WE WANT TO SEE BURRRNNNNN NOWWWWWW! It don't look good but I'm gonna wait for more info before I pick a side...
VicanZA Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Day and Jooste don't deserve to enjoy the sport we love, I think some prison basketball would be better.
Hennie VR Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 “The interesting part about the case is that the guy who was pushed by the other cyclist is a young boy from a township cycling club from Khayelitsha. So what they are basically saying is that township people shouldn’t participate in cycling races,” Mthethwa says." I'm sorry, but I find this comment from Mthethwa as racist and spurring on anger. Where have they ever said that township people don't belong in the sport. Totally unnecessary!

I agree , it's the proverbial chip on the shoulder followed by "it's easy for you to speak because you are white"

There's enough burning happening in Cape Town at the moment, let's rather try and put the fire/'s out... Let's all play together, c'mon, where's the competitve spirit of racing without the aggression?

jules1976 Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 There 3 sides to every story1. victim's side of the story2. Accused side of the story3. The truth Gents lets wait for the truth before we take sides and pass judgement !
ZakAttak Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 I don't think there was any aggro in that post at all.We can't use comic sans for everything . I wasn't referring to Eldron's post, more itterating the fact that fire's needs to be put out... Let's all find a way to work together and be the good example for the younger generations to learn from.... I once heard a saying: "Children don't know colour.... They are taught colour by their parents...."

The truth Gents lets wait for the truth before we take sides and pass judgement !I think it would be more accurate to say that there are at least 3 sides to every story...and this truth creature you refer to is very elusive.
