Mickey Mouse 0

Buffalo 1

Must've been really eina

Dale, I think it might be Mighty Mouse = 1 and Buffalo = 0 (seeing that he is dead). Unless Mighty Mouse fell over a dead buffalo, in which case the score is like you said and he'll NEVER hear the end of that story! :D

Besides being painful it must have been a very scary moment. Not exactly the kind of animal you want to encounter. I rode past one one once in a game reserve and that got my adrenaline going, and was it just watching me go past. I cannot imagine how it must feel just before you slam into one.

Best wishes to Andrew on a speedy recovery. Can't wait to hear him describe the incident on Super Cycling.

Poor buffalo. Was this the northern farm buffalo?

Get well Andrew. That is a bizarre accident

I don't think NF have wildlife, only bovine.

If you look on the N Farm twitter and Facebook alias they mentioned recently they had a Buffalo hence the questions. The quote was along the lines of no-one having found our buffalo and photographed it.

Plus there was a Hippo in Fish Eagle lake (confirmed but likely to have left) I have also seen Black back Jackal, Fallow Deer, Duiker and Leguvaan there plus many snakes.

So yes there is a lot more than what you think.

Probably more painful than scary, as it was dead BEFORE he hit it.

Are you doing the MTB race at Groot Marico on the 6 June?

Lets just say, Im sure we will be there....whether I partake or not is a different story :whistling:  - heard its far from easy & there are often bad injuries on that hectic downhill?

Not sure Im ready for that, but will be there with mampoer at the end for sure.

Greg Minnar has a Velcro glove for that broken hand and you don't need shoulders to pedal, he should be good to ride this weekend

Correct it's not a easy ride but definitely worth it. It's such a small race that the hectic stuff can be walked without someone shouting at you.

Plenty of rocks, thorns and sand. The water points are awesome. The boere always willing to fill up your bottle with some brandy or beer if you prefer that over the normal energy drinks, I'm sure they can even arrange some mampoer for you as well .

Will be there for sure. Awesome day out with all the festivities and seeing the family again.

Anyway. Hijack off.

Speedy recovery!! I'm almost in the same boat as you... I had a dog run in front of me yesterday, making me go airborne and mother earth gladly stopped me!!

That reminded me of my own very first proper bike crash.....I was about 6 years old, many moons ago, in the little town of Prince Albert, a black Labrador called Stoffel, that belonged to the NG dominee, ran in front of me. Crashed over him, into an irrigation canal and in under a bridge. I still have the scar on my right knee to show for it. (I now also have many other bike related scars to show...... )
