The Dome 2 Dome website has been updated (www.dome2dome.co.za). Down not up the Hekpoort pass - looks a bit like the Wilro Lions route.......

If it goes DOWN then it lost its allure to me.  Challenge gone.

The Dome has always been a challenging ride.  Sad.

Agreed, Dome was always a good leg workout with the hills !!

Still seems "fairly" hilly. 1004m over 111km. Looking at the profile on the site there are 3 climbs in the beginning with a flat middle and then climb to the finish.

New route and start venue for the Race for Victory.

No more dirt road.

Now starts at the Circus.

That sounds awesome Gerald!!!

Looking forward to it...

Do they have enough parking there?

Just checking...do not know Circus that well.

IMO, I don't think there's enough parking for the number of moaning roadies, but with a huge veld next door there shouldn't be a problem.

It's 30km from home for me, which is double the distance compared to the Rand Water venue. But I'm still riding there from home - good training (170km) for our club "Tour to Durban" in October.

Edit: spelling

LOL...a bit of a stretch for me from Heidelberg :w00t:  will have to take my chances with the "veld" parking...will be there again this year, hope to take off some time

Good luck with the trip to Durbs...sounds like fun.

Also good extra training for 94.7

According to CycleEvents website this will be timed by RaceTec. HOWEVER the Dome2Dome website says the timing company is still to be confirmed

How will this affect the route? I am not familiar with that area.

As of yesterday they hadn't published the rout, so it's difficult to know where we're riding.
