some more reactive policing...

Instead of proactively reducing the things that cause accidents:

Pedestrians, overloading, unroadworthy vehicles...etc...lets focus on the small percent of deaths that are a result of speeding...not to mention the immense cost of nationally changing all the signage!

bunch of palookas

Drivers to be re-evaluated when renewing a licence

 • No more than five people to be carried in a bakkie load bed

 • Children not to be transported in a bakkie load bed

 • Speed limits to be reduced from 60 to 40km/h in urban areas, from 100 to 80km/h in rural areas and from 120 to 100km/h on freeways running through a residential area

 • Goods vehicles above 9000kg GVM to be banned from public roads during peak travelling times

These creatures cannot even enforce what laws we have and now they wanna change them at a cost?

I wonder which cadré has got a finger in a road signage business?

If that's from the video of the AUDI RS3 that i'm thinking of, That was insane. Except I think it must have been on a dyno.

shew - 6 x the potential new speed limit in a built up area. 2.5 x the potential on a highway. That may see you out of cycling for a few months.... if they can catch you :)

Good:

Drivers to be re-evaluated when renewing a licence

No more than five people to be carried in a bakkie load bed

Children not to be transported in a bakkie load bed

Goods vehicles above 9000kg GVM to be banned from public roads during peak travelling times

Useless:

oh - i see this thread..I posted another one - admin can merge them.....the urban 40km/hr is fine its the ridiculous 100km/hr national road speed proposal and even worse the 80km/hr rural area speed

At least you will now motorpace at 60 in the 50 zones as opposed to the current scenario of trying to catch a car at 80 in a 60 zone

80?  Where.  This morning I was doing 80 km in a 60 zone (I tried to get out of traffic after a idiot almost took me out on the GS) and I was the slowest.  The norm is to go as fast as you can for as long as you dare to.  And a red light has no meaning in SA anymore.

Good:

Useless:

You obviously haven't taken a drivers test recently. They literally require to drive like an idiot.
