Kimmi<3MTB Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Hey Guys, I'm new to cycling and I absolutely love it!!!!I usually ride by myself (at bike parks) and I prefer keeping my cellphone with me to track my ride and for the safety element.I was wondering what kind of products are out there to help store your phone securely while riding. I dont really want to carry a backpack just for a cellphone.... Suggestions PLEASE Kim
NicNacDH Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 In the hydration pack , there is plenty of space for phone, car keys, tools and spares .Your phone is not visible and does not attract attention. As you are out on your own, you need tools and spares anyway, if you don't want to rely on others...
Albatross Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 zipped pocket in your baggies, if it looks like rain then put it in a ziploc plastic bag
DominionZA Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Small bag under the seat is for my phone. Second bottle holder with a tool bottle for multi tool, bombs, etc.. I only carry my Camelbak on rides > 40km for additional liquid.
Starvin' Marvin Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Welcome to the Hub. I have a thing called a poppac which is waterproof and resides in one of my shirt pockets even on 100km rides.. If you're riding with a hydro pack, problem solved.
T-Bob Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Each and everything said above. A heap of options. I have mine in a pocpac with my id, ice info and medical card and keep it in the zipped pocket on my jersey even if carrying a pack. I don't tend to keep it in my baggies in case I bail badly and that will end in leg if phone issues.

NotSoBigBen Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 +1 for PocPac in shirt pocket. Use one for my phone and money, another for my spares .......
Spez247 Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Normally in a ziplock sandwich bag. If I am expecting rain or a floating bridge: 2 ziplock bags. Cheap as chips...
Lurch Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 PocpacAlso use one of these and keep it in my backpack. The question is, what cellphone do you have?My sister has a Galaxy Note and we cannot find anything for her phone because it is too big, that just gets chucked in a bag, but she's already managed to crack the screen once with doing that (she even said the other day if she had been cycling before she got the phone she would definitely have gone for something smaller)
WrightJnr Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 I've got a pocpac for my iPhone 6 plus. I'm sure it's the same size as the note. And yes, my next phone will be smaller too. Pain in the arse to carry.
L.T.G Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Even though the chances are slim, I'm paranoid about my phone falling out my shirt pockets, so I ride with a waist bag under my shirtsimilar to this .Just big enough for my phone and car key .hardly noticeable(and phone is a pocpac)
tjommies3 Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 i decided to get an ICE number to go with a smartwatch, no phone hassles at all :-)

WrightJnr Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 I got it from the Anatomic Factory Shop in Northcliff. But I think it was the last one they had. You can buy online. This is the one I have. Fits in all my jersey pockets. http://www.thepocpac.co.za/shop/mobi-utility-3/
