Chris_ Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Also, my wife brought the wide fit Cliftons back from the States for me, as similarly they do seem to be getting a little more and more narrow with each version upgrade
DJuice Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Also, my wife brought the wide fit Cliftons back from the States for me, as similarly they do seem to be getting a little more and more narrow with each version upgradeThank you for your replies. Was in contact with Hoka in the states, seems like they no longer have a distributor for SA. If I go with the Altra will give a short review.
Jackes Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 My shoes only have about 500km on them but maybe time to look at new ones. Currently running in Brooks Ghost 10. Weird, my first pair of 9's have almost 1,300 on and the second pair has 800 on. Not even the 1,300 is close to retirement and I am normally heavy on shoes.. My 10's is on 250. Apart from the Saucony's which I also love, I don't see myself getting other shoes in the near future, but obviously shoes is a personal thing.
SeaBee Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 I went through a couple of pairs of Altras already and no issues wrt suppliers? The suppliers aren't an issue, I even spoke to them directly and got very prompt and good feedback. Biggest problem is finding a shop that actually stocks them - but we're a bit more fortunate in Stellies with that. DJuice, similarly I have a hard time believing that HOKA has no supplier in SA any more. If you want to, I can find out from somebody I know - he's a brand ambassador for HOKA last time we spoke. And if I look at RUN store feeds, it very often features HOKA products.
Andrew Steer Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 I got told a while ago - from one of those 'old wise men' types in a running store, that the suppliers of Altra into SA were very unreliable. Not sure if that remains the case. I was also keen to try them out. They had a joint stand with Falke (same distribution now?) at our Old Eds race... could bode well. My boss absolutely swears by them

I tried doing some searches but did not find much in the way of dealers selling our products your way at this time. I would recommend trying Amazon or other online retailers as you may find one selling to South Africa that has our stuff. Please let us know if there is anything further we can do to assist you. Mats Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Hmmmm... lottery process comingThat will only mean more subs. Not that I care... I think they must change to process that you can only enter once you have qualified.
Andrew Steer Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 That will only mean more subs. Not that I care... I think they must change to process that you can only enter once you have qualified.Or did it the previous year... Mats 1
Stretch Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 That will only mean more subs. Not that I care... I think they must change to process that you can only enter once you have qualified. Can't really do that. Not everyone does end of year marathons and instead wait for the Feb/march marathons. I honestly see no problem with the current system of entry and substitution Andrew Steer and Hacc 2
Jaws677 Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Another option is to take the finishing time back to 11h and the qualifying time a sub 4h marathon. Stretch and seven 2
dave303e Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 they should rather maybe stop looking at the entry side and start looking at the tons of plastic waste the competitors are going to litter over the route #ICarryMyOwn Chris_, seven and Barry Stuart 3
