Andrew Steer Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 I have a Suunto Aambit 3, awesome watch, and the battery life will def last more than 14h. I only maybe charge mine once a week. We've got the Peak though which is the battery benchmark... looking here though http://www.suunto.com/Compare-Products/?products=12654;13472;13415you should still be able to get in 10hrs with 1 second intervals on the Sport and Run version and more if you go for less frequent updates. Looks a great buy at those prices Lexx 1

Jackes Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 Ok, WRT Brooks Ghost 9's. Seems we have a design fault and I guess I will not own another 9 atleast then. I spoke to two people in the same resort as us this week that also have them. A lady that said she does not have any issues now with them, but she did have the exact same spot irritating in the inside of here foot for the first while, but then she switched to thick socks and it is fine now. Crossed another gentleman this morning on our run with them and he also can only use them on short runs, longer ones he gets the same irritation. I run with Falke AR1's so I don't know if "thick" socks are thicker then them. It's really sad actually, for everything else I love about the shoe. The ladies' husband did mention that he loved his Brooks Glycerin 13's. I see some wear on the centre of my front foot area, on the soles of my Saucony triumph ISO3's that is concerning after 50kms. Where the Brooks have more than 500 on now and still look very good for much more. I hope this is not a sign of poor poor mileage on the saucony's. I hardly see anybody using adidas, what about them?
Jackes Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 Just found this solereview review. Even before 50kms I can see that this will be the first point of failure yes... Holding thumbs for more kms than it currently seems to be heading for! https://www.solereview.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Saucony_Triumph_ISO_3_durability.jpg

Mudsimus Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 (edited) Snuck in a Christmas Run yesterday and aggravated my plantar.... Time for a solid week offInjuries this time of the year is just terrible, I planned a whole December of running, so far no running for 3 weeks. Will go for a slow jog today to assess. Jackes Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 I hardly see anybody using adidas, what about them? Anybody? The Supernova Glide seems to be the durable long runs one. I see they recon the boost was the turnaround for them and the continental soles on the supernova is the harder one, seems durable.
Mudsimus Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 I tried the Adidas trail shoes, found them way to dead and heavy, really didnt like that Conti sole. That said Im thinking about giving the Boost 2 a go.

Just had a look on Strava Gear and I have run just over 720 km in them - no problems, I like them, light and comfortable. Must say, I wouldn't mind trying a pair of Hoka One One Cliftons. breaker Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 Sooo, I need a new pair of shoes, and thought I would get my running analyzed and get a recommendation of what shoe to get. Anyone have any recommendations in cape town, pref southern suburbs?
usxorf Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 Sooo, I need a new pair of shoes, and thought I would get my running analyzed and get a recommendation of what shoe to get. Anyone have any recommendations in cape town, pref southern suburbs?I went to a biokineticist at the sports science institute in newlands. They did a functional assessment - pretty much tested strength and movement wrt running. And some video analysis on a treadmill. I think they do shoe recommendations as well - but they'll give you exercises and stretches to correct your running form which is more important imho. breaker and 'Kaze Pete 2
