I sometimes wear a pair of D'Arcs (please don't judge me on that ) and found if I adjust them ever so slightly away from my face it makes a world of difference. Might not always be possible with the various combinations of glasses/faces, but something you can try.

I however don't like using them as once I get sweaty and wet it is a matter of time before the lenses are practically worthless to see through. Only use them on routes straight into the sun on the horizon.

with a peak I generally dont battle with the sun...and...I am a downward glancing runner

One of my favourite tricks... when I'm hurting and I start what I know's a long hill, I pull that peak right down, literally sitting just above my brow and it creates my own little zone. Like a private little hurt cave if you must. I just focus on the ground and keeping those legs ticking over one after the other. Often before you know it you've klapped that hill... much easier to cut down a beast in small bits than to weigh yourself down with one big daunting task

How do you guys handle sunglasses fogging up or is it a PITA you have to live with?

Do the sunglasses with openings on the top of the lens against the frame make a difference to normal sunglasses?

I run with my oakley bottle rockets and it becomes irritating. http://www.oakley.com/en/mens/sunglasses/sport-sunglasses/bottle-rocket-trade-/bottle-rocket-polarized/product/W0OO9164P/?categoryCode=m020310&skuCode=OO9164-05

I stopped wearing sunnies for this exact reason. It irritated me having to stop and clean them so I stopped. While lenses with holes work for cycling I cannot run fast enough to create the same effect.

I use a peak or cap though. Multifunctional as it keeps sweat away from my face and I am a sweaty bugger while running and also keeps the sun outta my eyes.

Excuse my ignorance.   A "peak"?

It's not so much about the sun shining into your eyes, its more about sensitiveness to the brightness.

I run with a cap, but I have the same issue.   The whole breathable cap is soaking wet after a 5-10 k's.   I've been pondering with the idea to pull a buff on underneath the cap, but I recon that will get damm hot in the long run.

Unfortunately i find this is different from person to person. I for example am like you. my eyes are so sensitive to bright light that i don't go anywhere with sunglasses. even sometimes if its overcast i have to wear them because the glare is just to bright and i start squinting.

Then you get the other guys whom are blessed in this regard and only need to wear clear glasses to keep out "miggies"while climbing a mountain and staring directly into the sun

"A peak" - No, not what a Russian wife calls her husband when she has to clean the bathroom after him....

Actually it's a visor of sorts that has the front part of a cap that then connects to a headband or elastic of sorts to go around the head and keep the visor in place. Makes for comfortable running as there is nothing on top of your head preventing your head from letting off steam easily, so it feels less hot on the head itself! Most races give away freebie peaks in the race pack with some or other sponsorship logo on it!

I run with a visor and sunnies. If the sunnies are fogging up, they're too close to my eyes and I'll move them further down the nose! Problem sorted.

Ah ok.    Neither do I have the hairline and the amount of hair anymore to wear thos unfortunately.

I run with a cap and sunglasses. I am lucky not to sweat as much as other runners, especially with a cap.

I also move my sunglasses a little bit further if it starts fogging up, that always works.

Thank you for this Andrew, will definitely try it next time on a climb. I normally try to look down and not in front of me, it is very discouraging to see how long you still have to climb.

So your dome is a solar panel! Schweeet!

Cap it up or get some island tribe sunscreen for the dome and test a run with 'a peak' to check the difference!

hahaha, not there yet luckily.    I just have a deep hairline on the front, so that these kind of visors (which I prefer) don't work in the sense that I burn between the top of the cap and where my hair starts.

Anybody with a link to these peaks perhaps?
