Took the new Asics Nimbus Gel 19 for a 28km easy run this morning, as comfy as my previous 16's and 18's although I would say the toe box seems a little tighter than my others. Whether that is because they are new am not sure, also had on a fairly thick pair of socks so will try with a thin pair next time. Definitely feel lighter than my previous 2 pairs of Nimbus Gel. Otherwise comfy and no real concerns

For the guys that belong to a club, are their "club admin" fees that need to be paid to the province? In cycling it used to work like that, and was only re-introdued in 2015.

We have a number of runners in our club, who belong to another club just to get a licence. If we can register as a running club, we could attract more members, and perhaps become a "multisport" club - it keeps the same guys all in one place.

The only problem is that with running, I know it's impossible to belong to two clubs, but that's only for those wishing to licence.

Last month (1- 26 January) we had 12.5 hrs of sunshine... lowest amount for 20 years... and its been cold consistently below zero the whole time.

Last weekend we probably doubled that amount of sunshine and the temps went up to positive so took the opportunity to go run out side a bit...thought i'd take some pics to celebrate (sad hey... :w00t: )

We have a guy in our club who ran for sunginghill but was in the process of relocating from the smog.. So was a "country" member of our club too. Just out of courteousness because he was running with the guys. Still ran races in the sunginghill colours. He's a full member of ours now though

To answer your question.. Our fees are 300 plus 120 for kzn licence

Lets go see if my shoes are still there

This morning was the first time we got wet during a run the last 9 months.  Very light but constant drizzle.     How de heck do you get yourself to go train in that, constantly.

Our fees are R300 for the first family member and R200 for the rest, in total.

Our club fees are the same, but as a cycling club we have to pay R1500 to East Rand Cycling for the year. Not a lot in the grand scheme of things, but still has to be covered by member's fees.

I don't purposefully go run in rain, snow yes but not rain as wet and cold is not fun.

If you dress properly the cold is not an issue, but if it's less than -3 then I tend not to go out to run.... we have a treadmill at home for those occasions

Today I ran in shorts Was 8 degrees when I started but went downhill as the clouds moved in and finished at 6 degrees... was the only clown wearing shorts

Is it hard pack?

Yes, it's about 3 week old snow and been packed down by everyone walking / running on it. Starts getting slippery when it gets thin and trodden down Edited by SwissVan
