Andrew, please hear me out about these shoes;

I bought the exact same pair two weeks ago, read the reviews, they list these shoes as tight amd staying so.

It was my experience with them that they were incredibly uncomfortable, being very tight across the forefoot. After 75km's in them I gave up and bought the Kanadia's.

What I did like about them were; super stable, super grippy and very airy. I could feel the cold air rush through the shoe as I ran. However, if I was you, go to a shop and pre-fit them first, they seem slightly cramped.

As a reference, I also bought a pair of Boost 9's, which fitted like a glove no issues. These are trail shoes, you should trail fit a pair first

Thanks, will go fit them and see... I'm ideally 10.5, so 11 always gives me a bit of room to play with. But yeah, if they don't fit well up front I will give them a skip.

Appreciate the heads up

I'm a 10.5 as well. The Kanadias felt like I needed an 11 though.

I'm a NB fanboy, ran in a pair of Leadville 1210V2's road and trail, got 1136km's out that pair...you're spot on if that's your choice

Finding Leadville's is becoming a bit of a challenge.  It seems that NB has discontinued one of the few and possibly best motion control trail running shoes.

Jip, Leadville has been discontinued. But never say never. New Balance brought back to life the minimus trail after an absence of 3/4 years. What other options are there for motion control trail shoes??

Where do you find the NB minimus shoes in SA?

Unfortunately, I don't think it is available in SA since New Balance started manufacturing it again.

Barry - same here for me. I have a set of the original Sense Pro with over 700 k's on it looking like it has the same amount left in them - they are as good as new. (Except for not being washed...) Some wear and tear but nothing show-stopping.

A buddy of mine worn part of both his frontfoot through within 650k's.

I think it was you that asked about the Mazamas as well. (And as previously stated, the colour for the femaile version of the shoe is much nicer!) They run all their runs with us, gravel road, rocks, you name it. This same guy that killed his Sense Pro's ran Otter in them last year, another in our regular group ran Whale of Trail (talk about variety of conditions) with her Mazamas last weekend. No issues. Think they're much lighter than Cascadia, but since you fitted both, you can comment...

Andrew... the Speedcross is not something we should even be selling in SA (my opinion!) The tread is made for genuine wet conditions, I killed the tread on mine running normal trails. It is a very hot shoe - plus it is very narrow around the toes. Zero protection under the forefoot, which is to be expected if you run minimal, not with that kind of drop. It may be a good shoe for you, but it really did not work for me - and like I said, most of SA conditions don't match what it was designed for. (That said, this is for the 3 - I do not know what they've changed for the 4...)

The Speedcross is a terrible shoe. Made to be worn with jean pants to the shopping mall.

  What he said, Speedcross is a No Go for actual Trail Running/ Races..

S-Labs are the way to go... but pretty Pricey..

Hahaha... thanks guys. Almost pulled the trigger on a pair now, they were uber ugly, but only R1400. Must say they felt comfy and the online ratings are very high, but I'll take your word on it
