Gringo111 Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 (edited) About shoes, I have New Balance 880's at the moment, looking to get a pair of Ghost 10's . Any thoughts? Hi Scuzzy, What size are you? I have a basically brand new pair of ghost 10's (UK10) that I am selling at a reduced price. They are great long distance shoes, just the wrong size for me. Let me know. ycowley Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 Love my Ghost 10's. I changed from New Balance.
candz1 Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 I just bought a pair on Jackes earlier post..moved from Asics Nimbus..have been wanting to run in them for last 2 days but too much mud on our road and I dont want to dirty them (such a chick!)..so im bleak...however, just walking around in them and getting the feel is very promising and Il do PMB21 in them for a good breaking in. Barry Stuart Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 Gee those are cheap for Hoka!! Barry, we doing the PMB, im doing the 21km and Haydn the 42. Very nice finish. Just make sure you get there early because last year the traffic was HECTIC...H E C T I C!! getting to the parking..many were still driving in and the gun at already gone...!! It really was a nightmare. Good luck to you and Haydn. You targeting your sub 2 at PMB? Are you both Hilton Harriers runners? I'll look out for you guys, and I think we'll be the only Run Zone runners there. I've erred on the extreme side of caution ever since missing that Johnson Crane start. We normally get there well early and have breakfast in the car.
candz1 Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 Im a Vitality runner...and Haydn run for Michaelhouse. Going to try my best for that elusive sub 2..always so close..so lets see..i havent really done the milage id like. I hope we see you..but il definately look out for you on lap2! Il look for the Run Zone shirt. Good luck! Barry Stuart 1
Stretch Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 Anyone else doing Maritzburg on the weekend? Slightly different course to last year but it looks like it still has that fantastic 6km downhill finish. It's a double lapper but it's still the most enjoyable marathon I've run so far. Screen Shot 2018-02-20 at 14.02.21.pngStill my pb marathon. Would have been my permanent blue number this year [emoji17] Before that long downhill is a gradual long ascent that takes you up to 36......32 to 36 the real ouch.... Don't forget that! candz1 and Barry Stuart 2

Ja, I remember how much that bites from last year. That pull up from the Duzi all the way past the varsity with that last sting in the tail at Oribi. But it's a great feeling from there knowing you can stretch the legs all the way home. Was also my PB until Kaapsehoop so I'm looking forward to it again. Pity we don't run past the city hall this time. What was your PB time there?

Stretch Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 That's brilliant, man.Thanks..I really want to get close to a 3.10.. And despite aspirations of sub 3...I think those days are behind me. I will see how the training goes when it warms up a bit.. But have been really struggling to stay motivated at present. I will do a marathon in June... And anything under 3:30 I will be happy with then Barry Stuart, Lexx and candz1 3

Frosty Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 Into the 11th week of my 0-10K training plan (14 weeks), and I've just run a 1:00:36 for my first time over 10Km. Might not sound impressive, but I wasn't even running 11 weeks ago. My first ever (running) race in 3 weeks time, so looking forward to dipping under the 1 hour mark. YTD: 160Km running, and 1005Km cycling. Happy with the progress. Lexx, shaper, Barry Stuart and 19 others 22
