Thanks  -  I'm gonna work with this (sub 3:30) and tweak it according to where I am currently. My mileage is already at week 9 but since I have 11 weeks to race day, I'll work from week 6.

I followed the Asics sub 3.30 plan for Chicago last year. Had a solid Comrades base so it worked well (although the race didn't go completely to plan). If you stick to the plan it should work but I dare say you're doing too much mileage too soon and might end up off your potential best on race day.

Actually I'm just looking at it right now, also to start 2nd July for 16 weeks to Amsterdam.

Trying to pace adjust it to my actual Goal Time.

I've done the sub3 program 3x and I've had good results every time.

My ultimate goal is to achieve a Boston Marathon qualification time (3h05 ) so will be following a sub 3 plan. Eish

Mine too.... You're a lightweight hey!.. My age category is 3:15.... But reading on the interwebs they reckon you actually need a 3:11 or lower because of the numbers.. So my goal is 3:10 following the sub 3hr plan

Thanks. Not planning to keep the mileage that high. In all honesty, I saw an opportunity to go top of the leaderboard while the big boys and girls were recovering, and grabbed it with both hands :-)

So my coach wants me to switch to a lighter, faster shoe. I want to go for the Adidas Boston 6. My first choice will def be the Nike Zoom Fly,but its so bloody difficult to buy a pair because know one is stocking them, except 1-2 shops in JHB.

I am also aiming for a sub 3 in November, but first I want to get way below 90min for the 21km. So a lot of speedwork to be done from July..

I've just bought another pair of my old faithful ASICS gt2000's. They familiar... And with the price of shoes these days it's not easy just to buy on a whim.

I'm on the lookout for a cheap pair of puma speed 500 ignites for short Sharp sessions

What are you currently using? Pegasus? I would love to give the Zoom Flys a go. The new Pegasus 35 took a lot of the Zooms design characteristics, but doubt if if will be as light.

Just had a quick look at the Pegasus 35, its probably the best looking Nike shoe in ages. It has a full length air unit shaped similar to the carbon plate of the fly. Also lighter than the Pegasus 34.

Tjommies good job and good luck, but I'm afraid I'm more impressed with 67kms @ 3:21 average!

Lexx,

The Bostons are great, for more cushioning and lighter try the React's. I ended up running comrades in them, but also did some quick shorter runs and they are great. Possibly better than the Zoom Fly.
