So we are up to 85 members on the strava group, well done everybody

However this means we definitely have more than just one or two silent members who read, follow but don't feel comfortable with asking or sharing. While this is perfectly fine (But please do become more vocal and let us into your world, we not that bad :whistling: ) , it also means the time will come that these silent members will struggle with injuries and be to afraid to ask as they might be new and think they will be a drag. So here is a basic guideline from Runners World relating to injuries and who to see, hope it's helpful to someone.

There are also lurkers who would probably top 10 in the weekly leaderboard but keep all strava training private for various reasons and thus have not joined the group...

You are not alone... Tomorrow is D-Day for me.

There no excuses, it not even cold in the mornings.....

I'm really glad that I'm now in the rhythm of running and getting some good base miles in during these hot summer months up here in the north.

I'm really dreading the winter. Weeks/months of running in the dark with constant sub-zero or single digit temps is not very appealing. Further, I absolutely despise running on a treadmill. However, right now it is boiling hot and the sun is shining, so I'll make the best of it.

Im quite chuffed that I could stick to a program trough the winter. I have about 2 and a half months of solid base behind me. If everything goes according to plan I will hopefully do a sub 4 qualifier in Oct.

I quite enjoy running in the pitch dark winter mornings.

Treadmill guys, yea or nay? I know it's not the real thing, but...

Looking at getting one for me and the missus to help make it easier to sneak in training sessions more readily around our kids (like when they are asleep)

You guys use them? The one in particular I am eyeing is this as there is a good offer available:

I use a treadmill at the gym once a week for speed work and interval training, 20mins warm up, 20mins intervals, 5 min cool down. 45mins can go pretty quickly if you have a workout rather than the mind numbing just running.  I like using it for speed work as I can set the speed and do not need to keep looking at my watch if I was doing speed work out on the road or on a school field.

If you get a footpod, you can do Zwift running on them if want to go interactive https://zwift.com/run/ (if treadmill is bluetooth which the one you looking at is) rather than watching a movie or series as an alternative.

Zwift recently bought milestone footpod, so they are likely to be developing the Zwift running much more inline with the cycling https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2018/06/zwift-acquires-milestone-charts-entry-into-hardware-realm.html

Cool, have pulled the trigger on this - should help to get me running more regular

Not to sure on the virtual side of things, but will see how I go.

Shot for the feedback, appreciated

We have a treadmill at home for the frozen and wet winter nights.

It’s definitely worth it... my tip would be to buy the best you can afford and an additional fan for cooling.

I see you can also run on Zwift, so it could even be fun...
