OMNICO (GT) customer service is pathetic!!!

This is definitely a consideration when buying a new bike. Avoid a bike which is colour coded to the extent that it looks like it was sprayed once the suspension and wheels were fitted.

 

Of the people I know riding Giants only one still has the original frame and it doesn't look the part since Giant are obsessed with colour coding the fork to the frame.

I've had a few dealings with Omnico, mainly Fox and all of it has been very positive, they resolved my issues quickly, within a week or two at a max, even replaced stanchions when I did not complain about it.

 

I ride a Cannondale, also purchased from them and all very good. I am still a happy customer.

Apologies, misunderstanding!!!

 

The more I read of this topic the more depressing it gets.

 

Clearly OMNICO dont give a F*&^ about customer service and are very content in having an angry, disappointed customer base.

 

Sorry you haven't recieved anything yet, I can ask my dealer to send you a nice scratched one!!!

Lance did contact me directly and and he is a very helpful chap by sounds of things.

He promised me to do his best and get me sorted within the next week.

 

I would wait and see what happens.

 

I will also give feedback once I am sorted.

 

If they deal with me going forward accordingly to the phone call received this morning I will be a very happy customer!

 

After speaking to my LBS and receiving this call this morning I feel confident that OMNICO wants to sort this problem.

Lets see what happens next?!

 

I will not comment any further until a week from now.

Chin up!  I have found Lance very helpful and obliging.  There is hope if you are dealing with him.

 

I hope for everyones sake that this Post has kickstarted them into gear to resolve peoples problems.

 

I am well aware of Lance and numerous phonecalls and emails to him went unanswered, so I shall reserve passing comment on his helpfulness and customer service.

 

ZARIUSS, lets hope that they come through for you and get it sorted. Time will tell.

You are too gracious. Your previous post (more than a week ago) suggested you had been waiting 16weeks for your warranty issue to be sorted out.

 

What Lance did is put out a fire that Omnico started. He did what should have been done 16 weeks (now 17 weeks) ago.

 

That would not be enough to make be a loyal customer.

Agreed. Putting out fires once you have stuffed up badly doesn't make it good customer service.

 

Glad you are happy with the result, i personally find almost 4 months rather poor and nothing will change that.

 

As for Lance he couldn't have been bothered to return a phonecall or email. I have a sneaky suspicion that this thread has enhanced his attitude towards customers.

 

Last week they even phoned the owner of my LBS to apologise about the service and acknowledged full blame. How that changes anything i don't know, trying to save business?

 

I personally have never heard a word from them, apology or otherwise. So i shall certainly continue with my opinion of them and continue to warn consumers about their business ethics.

Without going into my historical dealings (eastern wheels....), omnico are to be avoided.

 

They will sell you a product but offer little to no aftersales support.

I would like to know what has gone wrong. A few years ago Omnico had the best customer service in the business. They were really well known for it.

A crappy looking bike is the fastest way to get someone to stop cycling.

 

If it was all about function over form, we would all ride Giants ;)
