what a race ... carnage corner was epic...

That section of track was tough in the dry so after all that rain im not surprised there were that many crashes.

That bridge after it was also sketchy in the dry, so in the wet it must have been hideous.

As for liking or disliking of people that we only see a sliver of every couple of weeks... A bit weird to make character or judgement calls off the cuff like that. But I guess that's what forums are for, and everyone has the entitlement of an opinion.

Yip, Gwinn is of the opinion that his God prefers him over others and I am of the opinion that he is a knob head for thinking this.

How exciting was that. One thing about Greg, he can pick a unique line or move for the big occasion, Bruni just outpicked him.

I am amused at the sneering about Gwin and his God.  All I know is that if He did that for Gwin, I could use Him!   And so could a few other armchair downhillers I reckon, although I'm just guessing at their abilities. I haven't noticed say Greg rubbishing Gwin's beliefs, funnily enough. Tolerance is obviously for sissies in hub lore.

Earnest question.  Has Gwinn actually ever said that he thinks he is preferred?  Or do you just read that into his giving  thanks to his god for his successes, which he, given the tenets of his faith is obliged to do like any other member of his faith, he just does so publically?

Two massively different things in my opinion.

But hey, assumptions are the mother of all Hub opinions.

Hey, haven't you realised that the collective UCI points tally for this thread is a massive ZERO?  That is all qualification you need to be an expert in this place.

Does anyone on the Hub actually even ride bikes?

I don't think anyone has denied his talent...raw talent mind you + his orange size stainless cajones.

We just happy for Bruni, love Ratboy's mullet...think Greg is the best there is/was(well records show that anyway) and love seeing Gwin seeing his koek. We don't have to like him, we can't deny he is great rider(again records for the season show it)...Some prefer JR some prefer Bobby....queue Dallas intro.

Nico I agree to a point and disagree to a point. The God of us Christian's certainly does expect that we live our lives to His glory and share Him with the World. It is also reasonable to say that when we get praised that we share that praise with God but here's the rub, it's a collaborative process. The parable of the talents certainly makes it clear that we are to work for our success but in turn we also need to be aware that we need to be humble when receiving praise. Aaron has made himself a little guilty of not being as humble as he could. He is of the mindset that if everything goes right for him on the day he will take home a victory. And on the occasion that Gwin does win, did Mick Hannah not give a 100% effort, hasn't he put in the effort in training and preparation? So why would God favor one over the other since both believe in Him and scripture says all stand equal before God? Have you considered that in your thinking? Have you considered the circumstances of Gwin leaving Trek for Spez? As a Christian myself the way Gwin handled that move was beyond poor and a terrible witness to what our faith is meant to be. Like Mick Hannah has said it's our foundation for life.
