Do you want to tell me the difference in validity between a verbal contract and one reduced to writing ?

The difference is that Lampre have him and Qhubeka don't.

Or would you like a formal legal opinion?

Does Lampre have 1000 posts on the Bikehub and did they post Dibs first?

Try sue someone over a verbal contact, gooooood luck. Half the time even with a signed contract its a mare.

No legal opinion needed and no argument that Lampre have him and Qhubeka don't.

I just hope they don't use and burn him... would be great to see that he is nurtured and develops to hiss full potential. TBH i think the potential for both is much better with a European team, lets just hope it goes the right way for young Louis

There must be uncertainty to MTN's future as they still haven't secured a new title sponsor for next year... the runour that dimension data will take over is still a rumour and nothing official has been confirmed. . So I think DD have probably decided not to..

there is still uncertainty due to the total sponsorship package required. DD still keen on title sponsorship but it hinges on the others sponsors contribution as DD don't want to foot the whole bill.

If you can't afford Cav (and/or Louis), then you may need/want to think twice about spending money on legal proceedings.

This type of move happens all the time.

Yes, we're disappointed to see him moving from our African team (and especially right now while we're still honeymooning), but it was probably inevitable.

Good luck Louis - keep flying the SA flag high.

I wonder the extent the Qhebeka "bill" covers, is it just the continental team or is it all the feeders as well, like the boys smashing it here in SA.

I am not jealous of the lawyers writing up that contract.

oh dear, so does that mean they have uncertainty with all their other sponsors too   or is it just a matter of waiting for final figures from them?

I'm sorry but I can't get this picture out of my mind when people talk about Lampre.

Apparently they head-hunted him too for their young rider development programme.

Hopefully the programme is better developed and more successful now.

The perfect scenario for SA would have been...Mtn go world tour and end up with him on the podium of a grand tour in 3 years.

Now we will just see him do the same in different colors...bad for Doug and he's team but probably the best for Meintjes.

Can't believe I am going to have to support that team now but I will.

My understanding is that it is a total package uncertainty.

The challenge with quebeka is the feeder mechanism as that needs to be covered as well.

When mtn started letting go the first bit that got cutoff was club 100.

I'm naturally very light on the details because the negotiations with dd are not final yet so the dd people whom I've spoken to informally don't want to say it's a done deal till they know what dd is really in for as a title sponsor. The more of the smaller sponsors the team can tie in the better it looks that dd will sign and make an announcement

Lampre employ this guy to eat all the second helpings and puddings before the cyclists can get to it...
