Skubarra Posted February 22, 2016 Share is this worth the effort? It's ok, guess it depends on your kid and his/her enthusiasm for this type of thing. We did it twice, don't think we will bother again.

raptor-22 Posted February 22, 2016 Share Here's one thing that I always wondered about. Why do they complicated things even further with a start card? You already have your number on you and a timing chip on your bike or yourself - they then add another thing that can get lost or cause problems? Personally I would just go with a timing chip and race number. The bar code scanner is written in revelation so should be avoided at all costs

Bianchisti Posted February 22, 2016 Share Isn't it Hoooplaaa? Have you been shouting it wrong all these years?? Quite possibly. I might have that one wrong. Whatever floats your boat. I think we can all do with a little bit of distraction and excitement in this country.

Long Wheel Base Posted February 22, 2016 Share Hoooopa laaaaa Come on people get it right alreadyWhen that dude retires it will truly be a sad day. He is to the Argus what Murray Walker was to F1. David Coulthard just isn't the same. Imagine Gerald DeKock saying "eeeeeverybody say hoooplaaaa" Butterflies have arrived in my stomach!!
Bub Marley Posted February 22, 2016 Share Nothing beats that start the argus gives you. From the hooplas in your chute and then that adrenaline rush you get when you just start I think till about Edinburgh with all that people cheering you on. It's one of the best feelings you could ever get. And then you hit the blueroute and the race actually begins.

renburg Posted February 23, 2016 Share Would it be advisable to change from MTB tyres to slicks for the Argus and if so what would the estimated improvement in average speed be?
Bianchisti Posted February 23, 2016 Share I think he actually says Hoppaaaa in this video. Made me stumble on that VA bunch (I think) vid with elite ladies from some Noggie guy a few years back. That ups the excitement a bit.
DJR Posted February 23, 2016 Share Would it be advisable to change from MTB tyres to slicks for the Argus and if so what would the estimated improvement in average speed be? Yes, 15 minutes for an average guy.
