Dave, I'm not sure I'd relocate the contents of my saddle bag to my handlebars....

Contents would normally include tube, patches, glue, plugs, bombs, multitool, levers, etc. Tube, multitool and tyre lever (Single) can be taped to your seat post (Be aware that tubes can perish in the sunlight and have a tendency to get stuck together in this location). Bombs can either screw into an adaptor that goes under your bottle cage or on older frames, remove the V-brake bosses and screw into the holes left behind.

Failing which a tool bottle in the second bottle cage but then you are back to the rattle...

1st prize would be jersey pockets with a minimalist approach.

2nd prize would be a hydration pack.

If it's just the rattle that is getting on your nerves, go find an old road tube and stretch pieces of tube cut to the right size over the noisy bits so that they don't touch each other.

As for the aerodynamics... I doubt that you'll notice a difference in race time due to it not being there. It'll probably have as much effect as shaved legs, internal cable routing, removing the peak off your helmet or insisting on wearing lycra instead of baggies

Thanks Grebel.

I've dug an old baggie out of my drawer at the office. I'll show my multitool, C02 regulator and tyre levers in there. It's small enough to go under the seat if rolled up tightly and should do just fine.

I like my cockpit clean... just my Garmin on there.

Sahmurai Sword in the handlebars, bombs in adapter under water bottle cage. Multi tool, bomb valve etc in back pockets of jersey...

Don't like to tape things around my handle bar or frame if i don't have to and i also don't like the saddle bag thing, but that's just me.

You see, that's valid. But straight up attacking, that's just not on and not what one would expect from the cycle community.

I simply asked for a few pictures of handlebar setups, nothing more

just relax, the okes are pulling your leg.

my setup (not handlebar, that's reserved for garmin, lights, shifters, brakes and grips)

toptube bag; multi tool, plug kit and keys

Bombs attached to frame and adapter screwed into the exposed bit (behind seatpost)

tube on downtube

food and phone in back pockets

chain link taped to shifter cable

duct tape around seatpost (replace regularly)

Bru, this isn't what discodave asked for...

Please only give what was requested.

I think this can become a cool forum, would like to see how each rider prefers the ride set up.

there's actually quite a few threads, just search camelbak, camelback, saddlebag, noob, jersey pockets etc.

In the middle pocket, 2 bombs on the frame, what more could you need?

*PS if it's an important 'event' I tape a vacuum packed spare tube under my saddle ...

I like the idea of  a clear bag like that, at a quick glance you can see if you have everything you might need ...... like that multi tool taken out late at night to do a quick adjustment and not put back in the bag before that really big ride you have been working towards for the past couple of months ..... then you need the tool on the ride!

Buy a new bike...

Now I want the new Stumpy!
