How you finding the Edge 25?

Great little unit for the price.

Does everything it says on the box. Incoming call and text notifications are awesome, because i can see if i should answer or if i can continue to ignore.

Only thing I could possibly say that can make this unit better would be a barometric altimeter, for accuracy.

*Hijack on* Sorry OP

How can I link my strava and Garmin accounts? As in must I download a Garmin App for my phone which already has strava or can I link my Garmin Edge to my strava account somehow??

Sorry when it comes to all these special technological apps I am not too clued up on how to sync data etc. I usually just plug my garmin into the laptop after my rideand log into my Garmin Express account to see my progress and just look at my strava app on my phone !

Anyone help will be greatly appreciated.

(Please don't use hectic IT jargon as i'll rather spend my time on my bike than trying to google what  the heck some of these IT terms mean.)

Garmin connect is currently down for maintenance today, so try to do the linking another day when Garmin connect is back up and running

hey man.

All you need to do is go into Strava, and get to the Settings Page. There, you should see something like "Link Other Services" and Garmin Connect should be listed there. Put in your Garmin account details there and it should sync automatically every time you upload data to Garmin.

If it's not there, you need to go to Garmin Connect website (can't do it now, unfortunately - site is down) and link them up.

EDIT: Shaper beat me to it with a better link

Thanks Shaper.

So all I need to do is download Garmin Connect and the 2 accounts will link WHEN the Garmin Connect site is back up and running?

Thanks Again, that was a lot easier to understand than I expected.

Just follow the instructions on the link I gave you.

You upload your rides to GC and once strava and GC are linked via Strava, the info will automatically update on Strava.

If you have a GC account already then you can just link your existing account.

I take it the pic of the guy walking with his bike is what you meant by site was down for maintenance?? I just tried anyway hoping I could get lucky and maybe they were finished, But will try again in the morning.

And last qu, if I leave my phone at home or it dies(smart phone with dom battery) and only use my garmin edge, when I have completed my ride my ride will then automatically link and upload onto strava??

Apologies for all the qu's and hijacked thread.

Yep. As soon as you upload to Garmin Connect, it will push the data through to Strava and then you can see it there.

Depends on what garmin you have?  If a Edge 500, then you cable to your PC and Garmin Express will automatically upload.  If you have something like the 510/520 which has bluetooth capability then you can sync via your phone... this will upload to the Garmin Connect which will automatically sync to Strava once linked
