Anyone not gonna use their entry that is looking to sell/donate it?

I have a work function planned for Sunday but we have just heard that it only starts at 9h30.

That will give me enough time to finish the race in a sub 2h30 and still get to the function in time.

maybe it was discussed a couple of times before:

is the race going over the "new" helshoogte, or over the "old" helshoogte ?

From the website:

There will be a brief warm up period after crossing the start line, as cyclists will encounter their first climb of the day when they make their way up the new version of Helshoogte Pass, before enjoying a long descent through Pniel and then turn right onto the R45 towards Franschhoek.

Where were the crash hotspots last year?

It's like devocean says - crashes can happen anywhere, it's often at the least "dangerous" places where the biggest crashes occur, I guess people are more aware at the danger spots but pay less attention on the open wide roads.

But to answer your question, you sometimes see crashes right at the start of the Helz climb as you turn right into the sun and some okes swerve to pass slower riders (and the organisers do their bit by placing random traffic cones on the road for people to crash into).

The Wemmershoek road is dangerous imo as the road is narrow (no yellow line) & bumpy and lots of groups converge there into one mass of riders + throw in some traffic.

And then right at the end when you descend into Stellenbosch on the R44 and turn sharp left onto Helshoogte road, there is always that one idiot that will cut inside the group of riders to get a bit of a headstart for the homesprint.

I am too wasted when I get there to make any sort of home sprint.  Last year it was more of a limp home.

I hate the new Helshoogte climb.  All exposed to the wind and in the sun.

Old climb is too narrow at the base of the climb to accommodate the group size that close to the start. Last few years going through there, there were always accidents that would break up the groups when the whole road would be littered with cyclists laying on the ground trying to squeeze together through the narrowest sections. Road surface continues to get worse.

That makes it even worse when mr wannabe racing snake cut the corner in front of you in his heroic quest for 4000th place

Last year there was an amazing somersault and a team mate did a front wheel wheelie on the dudes back but stayed upright.

What is the little number board in the race pack this year?

Must be like the DC. They want them at the front of the bike... like MTB races. I assume.
