Cycling alone won't help that, boet. Lifting and HIIT is the only way, together with meticulous dietary focus.

That's the Idea of a spinning Bike where I can play Heart Rate games and get the interval in. I am limited with equipment for Lifting but do 30 minutes a day resistance with rubber bands with handles and a few anchor points in my room.  1 am Slowly rebuilding upper body muscle loss from the cancer treatment. (my testosterone was  at castrate level for 2 years)

if you can lose during this time then you are very strong.

I got to my lowest of 84.5 for the 947, was still fine the week after then put on 2kg. I can lose it in a week if I get back to eating properly.

Goal for early next year is to go sub 80 and then push to 78 or so.

Back in gym 2-3 times a week and swimming 3x1km a week now so the training is not a problem at all.

Started my mission 3 days ago...couldn't care if we're going into the festive season. I'm determined!!!

As of this morning 7.5 kgs down :) chuffed with that.

Haven't set any specific goals - just the less of me to drag up the hills the better. Good luck with it over the holidays all.

'Fasted' riding, so just wondering how far one could go on a morning ride without eating anything before?

Would 70k's in say about 3 hours be possible, taking just water along .....

I know it is often mentioned that one can ride about 2 hours normally without needing additional nutrition/juice. Assuming said person wanted to get pretty lean for January [emoji102]

3-4 hours on roadbike with HR below 120 on water only, fasted. (always carry a gel just in case). I must add that it is a flat route out east around the airport.

3-4 hours at an easy pace is possible on just water. as Jz has mentioned, just carry a gel for emergencies.

You could go as far as staying fasted for another 2-3 hours after your ride.

I can manage that if I absolutely have to but riding a gentle route at any easy pace!! I feel like sh*t afterwards though............
