Hairy Posted January 14, 2016 Share If however the shop has direct line of site to the cyclelane and the typical easy parking in p island, then action might be into something! Sure rentals are also far better and the area is showing good / positive development over the last few years. Best wishes to them. raptor-22 Posted January 14, 2016 Share Unfortunately BikePlus in Constantia shut their doors. I'm not sure what happened there but it sounds like an investor pulled and re-invested in another store. It was a really great little store.

Capricorn Posted January 15, 2016 Share Giant maybe. ...seeing as they have a concept store down the road?so is this the future? A future where brands take it upon themselves to market their brands via a 'premiere bricks n mortar experience', while the vast majority of sales are online? Thomo Posted January 15, 2016 Share so is this the future? A future where brands take it upon themselves to market their brands via a 'premiere bricks n mortar experience', while the vast majority of sales are online? Looks like it.More and more brand specific/concept stores popping up, and from what I hear, terminating supply to existing LBS. Edge_Design Posted January 15, 2016 Share That sucks ass. For the more serious cyclists I think it's a great concept. If they stop supplying stores entirely then the concept of recommended retail prices falls away and they should be able to cut their selling prices (that's in theory - it might not happen but that's an issue of greed). Specialist stores also means they should have a full range of spares for their products and more extensive knowledge. Warranties could possibly be done directly from stock and not through a wholesaler which is much more efficient. They also carry stock of all models in all sizes due to a more limited range (rather than it sitting in a box in a warehouse waiting for an order, it can be on display). For the family that doesn't know what they want and would like to see a range of bikes in a price bracket to compare, it's not a great concept at all and makes life quite difficult. Overall I like the concept - keep the general stores for the small volume niche products, general spares and maintenance. Milky, they were going to run the chamber for a few weeks. But everytime I have gone past it looks closed. milky4130
