I'm not sure what the truck was doing! Seemed to cross over onto the forming lane over a solid white line.

Irrelevant really - you'd never catch me on a road that wide/fast.

Madness!

This reminds me of the idiot MTB rider than i saw cycling on the R300 yesterday. Can only image the damage a car driving at 120km+ will do to him when it hits him...

The vacuum created by the empty head was so great that it sucked in a truck

I know i shouldn't laugh, but that is seriously funny.....

The expression of the dude (I assume car owner) is classic. Like WTF dude?

Can someone explain what the rider's were doing wrong there? This is my take on the series of events. No I don't know if they were allowed to ride on that road, No I don't know rules of the road in whichever country they are in.

1. this is an clearly international video where clearly they drive on the right hand side of the road - Rule of the road here would be keep right pass left.

2. the riders were approaching a "turnoff" to the right, and wanting to go straight they cycle on the left hand side of the turning only lane (this seems pretty natural otherwise you would have to cross the lane at the last minute.

3. the entire lane on their right turns off making the cyclists the rightmost traffic. This is quite clearly shown by the painted island which the riders are about 30cm from.

4. a new "right lane" opens up after the turnoff.

5. Cyclist indicates that they are moving right. we don't know if the back rider has shouted "clear" or not at this stage, but I think it is reasonable for one to expect that with a lane that is busy opening up and is not yet 1 meter wide, that there should not be any vehicular traffic in the lane at that stage.

6. cyclist begins moving into the still-opening lane

7. BOOM... truck.

100% correct. And then the truck just kept on going.
