I'm pretty sure it is. Will be my first , I'm excited.

Save some legs for the end, there is a few short rises that can feel like grinders if there nothing left and you can loose a lot of time

National seeding event so it will count

The big news for 2016 is that the road race route has undergone a significant overhaul to cut out the busy sections in Rondebult Road on the way back to Emperors Palace for both road race distances.

Results

The provisional results of the event will be available within 24 hours on the website: www.racetec.co.za. Any objections must be tabled with the race organizer / referee / CSA officials within 1 hour after the finish of the race, and accompanied by a payment of R100.

Further changes to the results must be sent to queries@racetec.co.za no later than 7 days after the race. NO CHANGES will be made thereafter, as they cannot be included in the National Seeding Index.

Flattest fastest race around Jozi. Even if its a seeding event the beta makes it worthless. Your best bet is Ride 4 Sight and Race 4 Victory and even then nothing is certain.

It is quite pricey but I need to get my seeding up. I've already entered the MTB race Sat so will add this one. The new route looks a lot better regards traffic which cut across North Rand road twice the second time slap bang in peak hour (think of the uproar if you did this around Sandton City). I suggested the finish back to Emperors via Pretoria rd here on the Hub after the first one was held.

exactly this. last years beta was 0.69. But then depends what the individuals current seeding is. For me, I will do this in hope to improve my seeding which is currently 50.

Based on last years winning time and beta, if you get a 2:45 you would end up with a seeding index of around 26.

I guess its easier to maintain the fast pace in a bunch on this flatter route so would mean more chance of getting a great time.

It will be my first time. I've heard that it is flat and fats, which suits me just fine. Looking forward to it- also last race of the season.

No, you should come to Durban for the Tour Durban on the 24th April...

Am I missing something?

At 2:45 i work seeding out to roughly 33 seeding index

It's taken a few years and last year we (Merv and I) finally got to sit with Wynand and work out a viable route.

If you don't like the route, please don't moan at Wynand/ASG, as he's relied on input from the two of us.

I would actually love to, but it is such a schlep to get someone to look after the kids. I almost have to cancel the CTCT due to my in-laws on Monday notified us that they can't look after the kids anymore. Fortunately we made a plan, but it was touch and go.

If I can make a plan for Tour Durban I'll be there. My options are still open for this one. It's only a weekend, comparing to CTCT which as a whole week, so maybe I can work something out.

maybe I am doing it wrong, not sure.

165 / 139-1 / 0.69 x 100 = Index 27
