How come if I buy a hard copy at the local Spar its R42 ront and if I buy and download an electronic copy its R59 ront.... this is contrary to the norm where the pricing should be the other way round.

that's my bitch for this fine Tuesday

I have not bought a ride or bicycling mag in the last 18 months.

Simply adds no value to my life as the content is easily available else ware free on the web.

Also found the mags to be 80% advertisements.

Hi.

I am Spinnekop.  Its been 9 years since my last bike mag buy.

The Interwebs is actually an amazing thing once you know how to use it.

I didn't get instructions with my interwebs. Can you google them?

Okay I am guilty of buying recently one   On my CTCT trip I bought a Bicycling magazine

I really wanted not, but saw the front page and the additional free Cape Epic Magazine coming with it.

I enjoyed the article / pictures "Snakes on the trail" - Might save my (a) life one day...

Exactly what this fine young gentleman said!

Why would I pay to read hard copy adverts and information that is freely available (plus more) at the click of a mouse?!

I buy one every now and again, and to me it is a lekker fix to lie in bed shortly before dozing off while reading some interesting titbits about my favourite sport.

I am guilty of buying Mountain Biking UK mags for R160 every now and then.

I also like to read a physical magazine in bed, and at least you get some cool free stuff with the MBUK's.

Nevertheless the SA mags are shite!

You don't need to be a spidey to negotiate the interweb......ordinary animals can do it too! ;)

Nigh time + Bed + Cell + Lot's of Free and Good Cycling Content online = far better than a bloated overpriced mag to read ..... with the cell I can read in the dark too without needing the light on and disturbing the wife either.

I spend waay too much time looking at screens during the day to even care about my cell at night. A mag doesn't hurt my eyes so much. Around 3 in the arvie I start getting fatigued and my eyes start hurting from all the reading and staring at pixels all day.

Also dig having hard copies of mags. Pick up, thumb at random, get interested in something, read, put down, repeat days, weeks, months later...walked up to Grapes the other arfie reading an old copy of The Ride Journal.

Not really one to knock the local mags either. I like them, buy them, read them, and usually hang onto them for far too long! Think there's a decent spread of publications for the SA market.
