Ladies and Gentlemen,

Got a request today from Hero's ill informed lawyers, that I am to recapture the Conservancy's rhino and place them back into their small boma so that the mountain bikers can enjoy an uninterrupted ride on the red route. Please help me with this one?

1. Would real mountain bikers not prefer to ride amongst rhino in a reserve on the urban edge of Jhbg?

2. We are attempting to create a rhino sanctuary by relocating 5 rhino out of the Kruger area where we are losing one a month, to this safe haven here in the Cradle Moon. Would you not say this is a noble effort or should Hero get their way and we put the rhino back in cages? Are most mountain bikers not conservationists at heart?

3. The rhino were relocated to Aloe ridge and now only as we create the open area are they able to roam over more properties, including the red route, properties that we bought on an auction of a liquidated estate, with no mention of any claim to mountain biking whatsoever.

You guys figure out just who the baddy is in all of this and one day when you come out from behind the pseudonyms, give me a shout.

Thanks

ANDY DOTT

We know who the bad guy is here - the one who wont honour a signed contract... so that would be you then ANDY DOTT...

Having had to deal professionally with the results of a rhino charge - I would seriously recommend you don't put rhino in the same area as mountain bikers - that's just stupid - and you should know better than to deliberately endanger the lives and livelihoods of visitors.

Why don't you do the morally correct thing if you don't want to honour the hero contract and simply buy them out of it at fair market value - something that is easily established by independent professionals.

All online communities use pseudonyms, its not like everyone chose theirs after you joined.

To be honest though a quick google reveals that every time you have registered to join a forum following a complaint you have done more harm to to people's opinion of you than good.

I would suggest thinking twice before popping in and having a rant then disappearing again.

Personally I dont know what this is all about because I dont know either side's story but I know people and I know that if you just arrive and have a rant then they will be less inclined to engage in a civil manner with you.

Hey andy, I would prefer not to have a rhino horn through my chest. You started this issue when you f-up perfectly good trails, i visited your "fine establishment", and was shocked to see what you have done to it. You called out riders for a cold one so you can sit and discuss the issues, but when i saw your armed guards roaming the area, the only thought that came to mind was that they would surround you, trying to intimidate those you called out. Big up to you for digging trenches on the trails, kinda nice riding in a WW2 enviroment. Another concern for me, after you have spent millions on a tarred toad, is that you may consult with sanral to extend their e-toll routes, because your such a upstanding citizen. Enjoy the prosperous future of the conservancy.

There are pros and cons to buying up properties at auction Andy.

One of the Pro's being that you can get amazing properties at knock-down prices (due to other peoples desperate positions, granted, but that's just "how business works"). One of the Con's is that there are often things you only find out about after the fact if you don't do your homework.

Buying at auction is not for the "lazy man" and to be honest it sound like you were a bit lazy when you bought this? One trip to the place on a weekend would have shown you MTB riders everywhere and surely it would have crossed the mind of anyone with any sense to query their presence and its implications?

In your shoes, I think I'd be looking at suing my legal team for not finding out everything there was to find out about the place before I parted with my money?

Not a personal attack Andy - but this is the way I see it.

Funnily enough I was googling for a pic of a rhino nailing a cyclist and I came across this:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2262869/Couple-attacked-rhinos-Photo-shows-Chantal-Beyer-moments-gored-rhinoceros.html

This is the photo taken seconds before a safari tourist was seriously injured by a rhino - after she was allegedly urged to stand closer to the animal by a wildlife expert.

Chantal Beyer, 24, was visiting the South African nature park with her boyfriend when they stopped to look at some rhinos.

Afrikaans-language newspaper the Beeld reported that guide Alex Richter then advised them to stand a little closer seconds before the animal gored her from behind.

He allegedly told a group of visitors to get out of their vehicle to take photos and even encouraged the rhinos to come closer with food.

Ms Beyer, a bachelor of commerce student from Johannesburg, is now in an intensive care unit at a Krugersdorp hospital where she is said to be in stable condition, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Mrs Beyer's uncle and family spokesman Thom Peeters told the Beeld: 'There were quite a few young people on the vehicle and they probably felt they could trust Richter, who was an adult.'

South Africa's Aloe Ridge Hotel and Nature Reserve, where the incident took place, declined to comment today.

On the resort's website it lists rhinos as one of a number of animals which visitors can see 'at close range'.

Ahhh yes, riding my bicycle with Rhinos. Right after my morning Jog with Lions. Maybe i'll finish my Safari iron man off with swimming with crocodiles.

Must say, Avianto has been absolutely sublime lately.

I'm completely over Heia Safari.

I'm keen to find out from Mr Dott if the armed guards are there for the protection of the rhinoceros or to ensure his patrons dont try and leave without paying the so called conservancy fees.

Know what, in the great scheme of things if there's a genuine non profit driven passion towards conservation, especially protection from poaching and rescuing wildlife like rhino.
Great, go for it, honour the contract with Hero and buy them out. More than enough options for outdoor recreation in the immediate vicinity.

But endangering people for the sake of a buck and an immature feud. Well, there's a few pseudonyms that can be used as an analogy.

Mr Dolt buys a "bargain", then gets lawyered up and shown the small print. Has a nice public whine about his "rough deal" and sad penniless condition but then does the manly thing and tries to make his cock up some some else's problem, that certaintly commands ones respect?

Wait I think I got some things wrong there.

Reminds me of the guys I saw bidding on a nice looking car, the price just kept going up and I could swear they never bothered to open the bonnet, because I did and a piston had punched a hole in the block. That's auctions for you, you do your homework or get burnt, like a mutha fuga.

huur gaat voor koop:

'the effect of “huur gaat voor koop” is that the Purchaser is bound to the lease agreement and the Lessee is entitled to remain in occupation in accordance with the terms thereof. The Purchaser cannot plead ignorance and the right of the Lessee is stronger than the right of ownership of the Purchaser regardless of whether the Purchaser had notice of the existence or the terms of the lease.'

Either you did not do your due diligence when you bought the property or you were mislead by the seller or his agent. Neither of which is the tenants problem.

As for keeping rhino in a mountain bike park, perhaps ask SANParks for their comments, after all it is their our rhino that you have offered to look after.
