Hi guys

Another helmet thread

I have about R2 200 to spend on a helmet or two.  One for road and one for mtb, or one for both.

Currently looking at the following.

One helmet options:

Scott ARX Plus mtb - R1 700 (MIPS)

Scott ARX mtb - R1 100

Rudy Project Rush - R1 500

Specialized Propero II - R1 700

Two helmet options

Road

Scott ARX - R985

Lazer Genesis - R1 300

MTB

661 Recon Scout - R999

Bell Stoker - R1 119

https://www.bellhelmets.com/cycling/helmets/stoker-2016

Not sure what the Kask Rapido can be classified as at R1 250

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated

I own a Propero II on the road. Good helmet, good ventilation, a tad heavy on a Large model. Rave reviews everywhere.

I also have one and really like it. Only negative is I can't get my glasses (Oakley RadarLock) to fit in the vents on the helmet when I want to take them off.

That's something I definitely need to test when I buy my next helmet.

specialized has a very nice new lid that just came out. It is not expensive and looks the part!!

Its the airnet and I think it retials for about R1500. For that price I would buy 1 in every color

Many helmets are designed for dual use - no need for two.

Second helmet (or any cycling apparel/bike etc) useful for a change/backup.

Single helmet. Mtb "trail" helmets have more coverage at the back of the head, which for me is important. Plus you can also get the removable visors. Bell, spez, giant, the most important thing is comfort. Forget about price unless you're looking at MIPS helmets. They're all the same, just different venting and weight

I would spend my money on a Catlike Whisper MTB and use it for both purposes with and without the peak.

But more is always more and its fun having more than one of everything.????

That looks pretty good.  I only see it for R1 999 however.  Where did you spot it for R1 500
