steerer.

 

I've been riding it "slammed" for 3 years now. The only thing I'll let in between my steerer and frame is the headset cap. Due to the length of the steerer I have two spacers on top. I want it nice and flat - like the illustration (sorry) below.

 

Apart from affecting the resale value, is there any other reason I should not cut my steerer?

Have done it on all my bikes. I have just left one thin spacer on top just for in case. Just do it man, No point having a big tower of weight on your bike

If its a more trail / enduro type bike you dont want to cut steerer, you can then move stem up or down with spacers depending on the terrain...very steep downs...move stem up, flatter move stem down.

If you want resale vale cut it with 10 mm room , if resale is not a concern cut it flush

Just cut it - if you need a longer steeer tube down the line, just buy a new fork :-)
