The committee will meet next week to discuss the final plans for the restoration of trails but it has already been decided that the weekend of the 18th June will be the first volunteer build day since March 2015.

Look out for confirmation of details on Twitter, Facebook and of course, Bikehub.

Great news!

Will the builders be getting to go in before bikes or will bikes be given access on or before 18 June as well?

Nope. No bikes!

By build day, does Deon actually mean shovelling horse turds off our proposed new access route? :P

I'm sure we'll get instructions closer to the time but would it be worth investing in a hand saw in the meantime or are those aliens still pullable?

Some are some are not - pullable I mean. it depends on the soil they are in and the alien type.  A garden fork - spade size, would be a good option to help loosen the roots.

Sawing my be required in some cases but the idea is to avoid sniper stumps anywhere near where a bike wheel will be travelling.

Deon having a bad hair day? :-)

I thought that was his "good" side?!?!? disclaimer ... don't think I have ever met Deon, but this is Friday and all is fair game.

Ha ha, I bumped into Deons' little one going up Fairy Garden once, had a chat and asked whether it was a fairy that I could hear around the corner cutting manically with a chain saw. I got informed in no uncertain terms that it was her DAD and that he was NOT A FAIRY! (Not even a trail fairy? :D  ;) ) He DID look a bit like the picture above

Haha, the machine maketh the man. My favourite tool! I might have a few less stitches in my face so for the record Hairy, that's not a 100% likeness but enough to spot me in a crowd.

When Headshot and Dan emerged from the Switchback walk on the 28th with news that a tree's fallen across the track, my day was made.

Just to confirm: The day Tokai opens, even if there is nothing to ride yet, I will go and renew my activity permit!

Just stay out of Lower Tokai in the meantime. SANParks were checking permits there this morning. This was the first time I have ever been stopped in Lower Tokai.

(That must be one of the worst jobs that a game warden has to do.)
