Hells bells, almost that time again! I'm in!

Seriously I can understand the requirements for the entries, many a bike and rider got broken last year.  There's no ambulance access other than helicopter - which would have to come from Worcester (fair enough - probably closer to CW than Ceres anyways up there).

Ezelenduro is hard, it is tough, it is ridiculous, it is fantastically crazy and gnarly and other words that describe near death excitement.

I'm not saying you're not fast enough or doesn't have enough bike skills.  What I'm saying is that the course won't work well with a bigger field of riders, and safety is of massive concern.  So lucky are the few that gets in first.

Hey guys, Dan here-one of the 'organisers' of the event and just wanted to clear a few things up.

First off Headshot (Tim, I gather? Sorry, I don't spend much time here and figuring out who is who is a nightmare!), thanks for all the great advertising of the EzelEnduro! It's almost like you are part of our secret club and doing all our marketing for us :D

Secondly, You spent 3 hours with me in person on Saturday morning-why didn't you just ask me about the Enduro and if you could do it this year?? I've never ridden with you before so have no idea about your fitness or riding ability but I'm pretty sure I would just have said "Sure, I'll send you a link to enter as soon as we have one".

Thirdly, our invitational process goes something like this;

-Invite the same riders as last year as it worked so well with that bunch of people

-Get them to invite anyone they think may enjoy that type of riding

-Try to invite a few more top riders from other provinces as we'd love to have them down here

-Invite a few more people that hear about the enduro and email us and ask if they can join (as long as we know their fitness/skills level is up to scratch)

What we're trying to do is make sure everyone who comes along has one of the scariest, hardest and funnest adventures without putting them in a situation that they can't handle. Our idea of this invitational process is the best way we could think of, to to do this.

Oh, and thanks to those hubbers who have defended our way of thinking here-we really appreciate it! We would rather be organising the EzelEnduro and making sure it's even better this year, than reading through 5 pages of this thread and typing up responses!

Wait, what?  I was also under this impression...

dude ... your new bike has red on the frame ... of course it will shred any trail!

If you want technical riding, forget the local enduro races (excluding Ezelenduro of course), go enter an XCO. The sad thing is, I'm not even kidding.

He actually says in his post 'enter now or befriend the right people'

Tim, why don't you just ask Rupert what you need to do to get an entry? Tell him you're really interested in this event and want to know what you need to do in order to make the cut...

Myles, instead of giving advice, take some of your own instead. Thats far more your M O than mine anyway. Think of it as the ultimate #enduro challenge for you...

Here's a WILD idea:  There is no such as thing as MUST. The organisers don't have to create objective criteria.  They don't have to invite you despite you thinking it's your right to go and partake.  They don't have to keep quiet about the race.  They can create hype around it in the hope that more people use this as inspiration to create something of their own and take the sport forward.

But oh no, we don't build our own things. We don't take inspiration from other's ingenuity and contribute to the pool.  No, we wait for others to do it and then cry when they don't want to share or criticise when it's not exactly what we wanted.

Feel so heinously aggrieved by this that you need to start a thread about it?  Start your own event and invite whoever you want.

Nico, you'd better start playing nice or you won't get an invite to the event I'm planning. It will be exclusive, so gnarly you will **** yourself stukkend and you will need to befriend the right people - starting now. I'll also need your bio passport #Enduro results, Vitality points and every Strava segment you've ever ridden.  And make sure you bring a big bag full of goodies for me to eat and beers for after.  Really something to aspire to.

Might take a while to organize - I'm not in the MTB tourism industry so I don't get out into new areas as much as I'd like.

Watch this space :-)
