Howzit guys...

Your opinions on the trance.

Missed out on two that were available, not to long ago (good upgrades on them).

But besides a trance what else can I be on the look out for.Back to the trance, how are they on the up hills???

Thanx guys,I can't wait to hear your thoughts..

There's a Rocky Altitude in the classifieds for R26500. Brand new! That's a great all rounder. I'd say it's a bit more of a trail bike that the Trance so you'll *** a bit more going uphill. I think it's a 2014 or 2015 model.

For me it's one of the best allrounders out there. And I've ridden a LOT of bikes. Climbs ok. Jumps well. Geo feels JUST right.

Slightly more than your budget, but definitely worth a look is the Specialized Stump Jumper, and the more affordable Camber. I rode the top-of-the-line Stumpjumper FSR Fattie Expert at a demo day, and I was really impressed! Tons of cash, but the handling, etc. are just as well rounded in the full ranges.

I wouldn't consider the camber given the leaning of the topic. Camber can go downhill, but it's not anywhere near as capable as the Stumpy or Trance or Altitude when things get rough. It's more of an XCers trail bike.

Trance

Kona Process 134DL

Cube Stereo (if you can find one)

But the Trance is your best bet. They go uphill VERY well, obviously not as fast as an XC race weapon, but TBH dude you are going to be the limiting factor in it going uphill fast, not the bike.

For example - I have a reign, as does a mate of mine. I'm HECTICALLY unfit, yet I beat some of my mates on smaller 90mm bikes up the hills. It's mostly about you, not the bike.

Great bike.

It's a BIIT lifeless in my opinion. Similar to my Reign. But that doesn't mean it's rubbish. It feels like a Windhoek vs Craft Beer type of bike. If that makes any sense. It does the job very well and without fuss or fanfare. And therein lies the problem.

Make sense?

What size are you?

I have a Size M, 2013 Santa Cruz Carbon Nomad,  26" wheel size in your price bracket. (Fox 34 160mm fork ,Carbon wheels, XTR, XT mix.)

If you are size L: Hylton have this one:

You cannot go wrong with this bike: Great for everything from full on downhill tracks to all day trail rides.

I did 40km XC races on mine, and I took it to the the French Alps ( mostly DH tracks.)

Don't get hung up on the whole 27,5 wheel size hype, there is no real difference between 26 and 27.5. If wheel size is important to you, get a 29" Stumpy.

Kona Process 134DL

100% on my list as well. That Process gets killer reviews and 'makes sense' Unfortunately the DL is up at the 48K mark and there is quite a bit of comp' in that area... like the 153 because that looks nuts fun.
