Eish, I give up !!!  :whistling:

Which part of NON MEMBERS (or non board carrying members) on a MEMBERS ONLY trail, with ACCESS CONTROL and DISCLAIMERS to the fact that it is MEMBERS ONLY, do you not understand ?????

They were not suppose to be there, and claiming they did not know, or did not see the disclaimers (if they did not see this, they should have guide dogs), does not carry any water.

I have not even been on this corridor yet, so I'm gonna go home now, get on my Mtb (with my board in the prescribed affixed position) and ride this corridor, before it gets closed down.

See ya peeps.

Go ride your bike please dude! It's almost overdue they we catch up on two wheels somewhere!!!!

Be nice to the n00bs though!     :whistling: hehe

(The n00bs in this thread are probably too green to even know what they are doing, let alone how wrong some of it is!)

You all seem to be missing the most important point.

Who was the speed cop hiding in the bushes

Was he clearly visible or could it be considered entrapment.....

nobody bitching on here has mentioned anything about them paying/not paying. The issue is it's a members only trail. 'Members only' is not some arbitrary rule sucked out of the club's collective thumb. It is a land owner request.

You are missing my point.

This thread is looking for "rogue riders", I'm saying these are not rogue riders, but probably a bunch of boom rookers who used bicycles to get to their zol spot. Much like if it was two farm workers on some old Nishiki, there wouldn't be this reaction about "rouge riders".

Now if it was a fat middle aged man in lycra on his Sworks, I would agree it was a knobhead mountain biker who blatantly ignored signs to go for a ride on private trails.

The last thing you want is for the TMBC to come across as a NG Kerkraad from De Aar.

But the Kerkraad is mos good peoples.... (BTW - this original post violates the hub rules... in spirit)

Rogue riders without shirts are of course NOT...

They are rogue.

They jumped over a fence, riding for almost 2 hours on CLEARLY marked MEMBERS ONLY trails only accessible via code-locked gates only known to members. Not boom rookers, but ROGUE.

NO EXCUSE, they are guilty

I think I'm also missing your point. I don't quite get how the ability to read & comprehend basic signs is linked to how long you have been mtb'ing.

If you jump a fence right next to a locked gate & big sign that says "Members Only" you cannot claim ignorance.

That said - on the facebook page rapunzel mentions that these were the only 2 without bikeboards out of 100's of members that were snapped by the camera - so seems the penny is dropping for the northern suburbs mtb community!

I don't really have a dog in this fight, but those two okes don't look like they're out to shred some gnar. They actually look like they're on their way to get f@cked up somewhere in the bushes. So perhaps they aren't clued up on the trail restrictions.

Anyhoo, Karlvn, WOOOOSAAA, WOOOSAAA....

take step back. Remeber that we didn't have all the info at the start of the thread. Now consider this:

You and your family happily live somewhere in the middle ages. Then out of nowhere some priest labels your daughter a witch. No proof is provided. Should we all jump on the bandwagon and go burn her at the stake? Or should we have a fair trial?

I prefer a stoning personally....

By the way where is this new corridor? Cant find it on TBMTB website...

If 2 stoners who aren't even proper mtb'ers can find it what is your excuse?

I dont jump fences...

I believe this corridor will take me from my house to Bloemendal and not having to take tar road. Just want to know where the entry/exit points are. Currently I start at my house close to Majik and go over the hill to Bloemendal.

and here we have an example of a well-meaning club member potentially doing more harm than good. No offense OP, but a committee member is now mopping up after you. Perhaps if the committee felt the need to expand their search to ID these riders they would have posted here on bikehub themselves. I know you meant well OP, but next time leave it to the pro's.

What harm did OP do?

From the FB page

Where: Choose your start location: either Bon Amis at Bloemendal or Top of Odendaal Rd, Aurora (corner of Odendaal and Chatelaine Crescent)

A very big thank you to the landowners, the Parker family of Altydgedacht, Koos de Villiers of Morgenster and our old friend Lombard Loubser of Bloemendal for allowing Tygerberg MTB Club to forge a new route across their farms. Thank you to Patrick for laying out and marking the new route. Thank you also to our members and marshals for helping us build TMTBC’s reputation for being responsible and law abiding mountain bikers as this has been key to building new relationships with landowners.

The Route:

The 5km route (approximately 100m climbing) provides an alternative path from Durbanville to Nitida (and back) via the upper reaches of Altydgedacht, Morgenster and Bloemendal. It runs from the corner of Chatelaine Crescent and Odendaal roads in Aurora (above the small triangle of renosterveld) to the southern entrance of Nitida and provides a gateway to and from the trails of Hillcrest, Contermans and Meerendal. Please see the route attached. Access to the Durbanville end is controlled with a combination locked gate (same code as other locks on the Tygerberg network) and the route is marked with green arrows on white boards. Trail access is from sunrise to sunset and has been negotiated solely for the use of TMTBC members with boards displayed on their handlebars.

If nothing else this thread has brought us some wonderful Monty Python memories. For that I thank you.

On a serious note: I hope the rogue riders do get ID'ed and then handled in such a way that they would like to join the club and our wonderful sport. Maybe even become Hubbers and one day recount their memory of how they were handled with love and respect even after being a bit sneaky / daft / careless / selfish / on zol.

We are privileged to have access to so much private land and like you I would like to keep it that way.
