So far it's basically all brand ambassadors and people who are otherwise healthy sponsored cyclists. Target market is wealthy cyclists who are easily convinced that they need anything new on the market lest their mates think their stinky poor. Martin Ashton is one guy. I'm all for this application of E-bikes, but let's not fool each other. That's not what was discussed at Spez central. The whole point of riding my bike is to share experiences with my friends in nature and not to donner up the hill on my ace all the while convincing myself that that 4th run of Canaries really justifies the alone riding and R90k I dropped. OR I can just be happy with riding with my mates till I'm tired. I guess some people return to the buffet despite them being full, because it's free and MOAR IS BETTER! Other have their fill, get up and leave. Jeepers, boet. That 100kg chip on your shoulder is going to snap your collar bone. Chill. E-bikes will be a part of the MTB scene for the foreseeable future. No need to start frothing at the mouth every time the topic pops up.

I'm a luddite. So what. I'm not personally affected by this at all so I'd never go so far as to petition for their ban from trails as I don't buy that argument anyways. I just think it's another incarnation of humanity's desire for shortcuts and easy ways out. That and the mtb industry being desperate for the next big thing as bike sales are tanking.

There are too many cyclists at our local MTB Park who only ride the flats, primarily because they are just too lazy to apply any effort to the pedals.At the end of the day they climb into their luxury MPV’s and cause havoc on the gravel roads on their way out, often leaving returning cyclists scattering for cover in a pile of dust.Now imagine these fifty wannabes on ebikes trying to ascend/descend trails that are barely walkable because they don't have to pedal.

I was causally climbing when the rider came up and passed me on a single track at a ridiculous pace. I got the fright of my life as it felt like the rider must of been doing around, 30km/h, as he passed me. You must not have any friends, there are men in this world fighting wars and dying and you choose to complain about someone riding past you on a bicycle. You should have all your man cards revoked, it's a sad sad day for men in this country.
