im sure many peeps went to collect number already for last w'ends cancelled race. Also, PPA had registration Wednesday and Thursday this week so i think it shouldn't be too bad. however, play it safe and get there early tho'

Yep - let's hope for the best.

I picked up my number and sticker to avoid the queues - from my experience been this way for the last three years at least.

Hey Everyone.

Good luck and have a blast. Looks like the weather is really going to play along and you going to have stacks of fun.

Just remember, respect other road uses, and just be safe. Dont take risks!

Look forward to the ride reports on Monday

Was my 1st too.  It was really well organised.  Thanks PPA and all the sponsors.

Thanks very much team Pure Savage and Cecil Nurse in D bunch. Kept us rolling nicely and I certainly tried to do my fair share at the font til that nasty puncture caught me with 50km to go

Rode the entire race in the big chainring because my shifter broke in the parking lot. I managed to get into the small ring for Riebeek Kasteel, but that was it. The low cadence strength training got me through today.

There was a crash about 50km from the start. About 5 guys went down and the bunch split with about 10 guys off the front. I managed to get into 5 man break that nearly caught the leaders, but they eventually finished 2 or 3 minutes ahead of us.

I pushed over the limit today, there are parts of the ride that are missing from my memory... Coming in to Stellenbosch up the last climb, I actually thought it would be a good idea to throw up. I didn't, but I thought it would make me feel better.

Finished around 12th in 4:22

Rode the 109km with my lady, could not have asked for a better day, and very well organised, so kudos to the PPA. Even helping her out by giving a push here and there up the hills, riding infront the whole time, we still average better than last years Stell Cycle tour, so very impress...with her too ????

Did the 170km fun ride and it was great. I was weak after the muddy ride I had yesterday so I just enjoyed the ride and the very well stocked water points. Managed to find my way from B back to H throughout the course of the 170km  :whistling:

Was great riding, was wondering where you went to! Think you were with us over the climb and were all back together.

We had a comfort stop at 60km (Some savages are getting old) then stopped for water to replicate DC and get some paceline practice for DC, so two decent chases back to the group.

Our rider Will, came second on the strava segment climb on the day! Serious hammer!

Waiting to hear the full story why LbL riders were not in the $ Cat. But they got the 3 fastest times on the day (racetec results), along with no doubt bring a few A riders in ahead on time compared to the $ group. I appreciate racing tactic but until now in say the Cape Town Cycle tour - the $ bunch has always been a good few minutes faster than the A bunch.

I know what the rules probably say (I questioned the rules some years back) with regards who should get the prize money - but I am not sure if the rules are correct. This by know means is in the riders hands - those who got prize money today and those who put up the fastest times are friend of mine. The result do however look a little cock up compared to the podium - just saying. I should mention I was not at the event.

I also believe (facebook posts) the ball may have been dropped with regards to rider safety and Ambulance services available and medical facilities at the end. Any comment on this.
