capediver Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 Will the fence at the Silvermine gate (level 5 entrance) be taken down? Then I'll just go in my old normal route from Wapad.Looks like access from Silvermine will be cut off....for now
dirtypot Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 Looks like access from Silvermine will be cut off....for now Tokai.JPG Aah man, that sucks. EDIT - thanks for the map though, I hadn't seen that.
capediver Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 We'll probably get there at the same time then.Just not looking forward to that climb.....! hoo boy, gonna have to put my big boy pants on for that!
marko35s Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 Aah man, that sucks. EDIT - thanks for the map though, I hadn't seen that.I need to check but I think the level 5 route from Silvermine will be open. The red section that covers it on the map denotes an area that may be closed if parks deem it necessary for safety reasons.
(Deon) Posted December 4, 2016 Author Posted December 4, 2016 Looks like access from Silvermine will be cut off....for now Tokai.JPGIt's open for now.. that clause is there because the rocks keep falling on the road closing the route

Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Ja, the first thing that got me was the climb in that clip.Does it go straigh up like the old Vasbyt climb, but just longer?Yes. And steeper. And looser.
Headshot Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 It's open for now.. that clause is there because the rocks keep falling on the road closing the route Parks have to be the biggest pansies ever. Oooh rocks falling down - when does that ever not happen on a mountain. I am about to cough for an activity permit. Its not a user friendly process at all. Multiple pics and docs, even for a 3 year old and unless you get for the whole family at once you cant go back and pay the reduced amount for the family permits. What boils my blood further is that they take the money and still refuse to pay anything towards trail maintenance. Its also nonsense that the place is only open on weekends for now.
