KASK Crash Replacement Policy?

At 70.3 crashed  and fell directly onto my shoulder with the subsequent whiplash hitting my helmet on the road. The Kask Mojito did it’s job and protected my head from serious injury. The actual crash damage is insignificant and is a testimonial to the product.

However this is where the story goes bad. I approached the Retailer who phoned N Square. I was offered a new one for R3000 which is 20% off Retail. Now as far as I understand the Kask Crash replacement is 50% Internationally. So when this was mentioned  to the Retailer the reply from NSquared (The Distributor)  was that this is the offer and they refused to budge, their response was:

The crash replacement warranty is not something that is offered by Kask International, and that they  get no support from Kask on this matter,  and it is something that they as a company offer the market.  Each country obviously has their own discount which they offer their consumers,  and the 50% is therefore only applicable in that country that offers it. I approached Kask directly two weeks ago and have not even had the courtesy of a reply, similarly posted on Facabook and nothing.

So just be prepared that you are not going to get the backup and even the simple reply you expect from Kask. So in short-I wouldn’t buy a Kask helmet purely that I am paying for a product that has different rules for different countries but still paying a premium.

I have to agree that it's a bit shifty. Yes, the helmet did its job very well, but I'm sure you purchased it in part due to the crash warranty offered.

I know I did with my Bell, where you pay 30% of the retail price. I had a massive wipe-out, wrecked the helmet completely, went to the shop I bought it from, had a brand new helmet for (a little over) 30% two days later.

If kask is based in Italy they are closed for their summer holidays. You should get a response from them end of month.

I have a supplier based in Italy who is closed for 3 weeks due to this.

will be following this with interest. love my Mojito.

but if they don't stand up to the own crash replacement warranty i will vote with my wallet and buy something else next time.

especially as their prices have sky rocketed

Bikebloke-if you buy something and there is a warrantee should I now celebrate it saving my life and be thankful when they dont honour their warrantees. It is like crashing your car and surviving and the insurance doesn't pay. A bit illogic man.
