Spot on!...Thx. I'm against paying PRO's and preferential treatment but wants to hear from the mouth of the crowd that's feeding the MTB scene in our country.

Oh. MTB squabbling again.

Hoes you calling a wannabee? Everybody is a pro come race day! Just look at all the fully kitted Spez riders in batch J on that 120k Epic.

Luckily I am not a pro cause I don't wear shades... ;)

hahaha! Nothing brings me more joy than beating some fellow amateur on his 120k bike with my 6k gumtree bargain.

Technically if you follow the UCI rule book, if you invite any team (pro or not) to attend your event then you have to pay for them to be there - including accommodation food etc...so be careful how you ask teams to attend your event...

Personally, I would not be fazed if there are pro's on the start line or not...

Hey , easy on us Spez riders ....

Like my Old Man always said  "If you not in the 1st team ( Pro team )  - at least LOOK like you should be in the 1st Team "

Ha Ha Ha ......

More interesting question might be "Why do you enter races?" pro or not.

(I don't enter mtb events becuase I then have the rest of the trails all to myself).

the more importanter question is, is there food and beer on sale afterwards

Respect them for their physical superiority and all, but they are no influence on whether I enter a race or not.

+1

For me it is about cost and distance. Not too fazed about food, drinks after the race. I normally cross the line, grab my medal and go straight to the car. I also like races with very early starts cos then you home early and still have the day left to spend with the family

Nope, pro's don't influence my choice. All about the route/area especially if I can't ride that route without entering an event. If I am allowed to ride on a route without having to enter a race then I will rather do that. Prefer to wear my shades and ride my Spez for fun!  :D

Yes, invite the pro's or not but boerie rolls should be mandatory.

If you are talking mtb - the route is king .... every time

If some pros want to come join it is nice to have them around, but they do not play any role in whether I click on the enter button.
