I am dead serious I adore that place. Stettyns is *** though as its unridable. Osseberg can be conquered at least 85% riding your bike.

we rode up the Jeep track in the adventure race, it was a lot more riding than I was expecting.

But the river crossings are the same

The jeep track seems to have been cleared up.. I would suggest it is 100% rideable going down (RASA).

We rode up a fair percentage of it and only really walked because, well, its long and tedious and steep and we were a wee bit tired...

Has there been a complaint to the police?

Thats a vile criminal act to a protected monument.

We must avoid this and protect this beautifull bush shrub and other k@k

Now I know where the koedoeskop SS comes from - SS25, which was Oestervanger/Goodhope has been taken away.

I am clearly getting old, but the route doesn't go through macgregor/lord's winery up the eskom route at coenieskraal..was this the case last year? remember something about it.

next up, that blerrie climb up the rocky path.

wait no, the whole thing has changed hectically. this looks much quicker

Didn't do Coenieskraal last year either. Apparently new route longer, but potentially a bit quicker.

Was like this last year as well.  Land access issues IIRC.

it did rattle my brain. should just go look at last year's thread and see what i asked 365 days ago!

I really liked that section, not sure why. maybe because it went through an valley with a naughty name

A couple of years ago I was riding there alone and stopped and chatted to a farmer at a place behind Lords - he was telling me about how the FC riders go over his land, but he sounded so happy about it!  He was proud of it.  Super helpful guy, gave me access to his farm, showed me where to go and called his neighbour to let him know that I'd be coming through.

I felt sad seeing that he wasn't going to be included anymore.

looking at the finish for MD now - he's probably about 2 hours from Trouthaven. and then it's about 8? from there.

so finish would be about 1am?

this would be 9days 19hours, or 235 hours.

For me a 10Day has always been a huge barrier, and he's well within getting there before 6am tomorrow morning

A couple of questions:

How much water is in Stettynskloof Dam and is it a deep of shallow type Dam?

I'm thinking that with the drought in the WC and if it's a shallow type dam, Martin might be able to cycle along the circumference instead of hike-a-biking the 1st section or if he can't cycle at least push his bike, which might also save him some time.

Secondly, what's the vegetation like in the kloof? Last year guys had real nightmares and didn't know whether they were Arthur or Martha. If it's thick, then a possible time saver is again to climb the mountain on the left of the kloof, gain the height early and meet the jeep track further up.

Either way, it's going to be tough in the dark.
