ScottCM Posted May 23, 2017 Share So from the massive press hype of going to win the double, chance are highly likely he will end up doing worse than Contador did in his attempt and end up crying at home with nothing to show for it. As happy as i would be with that result, i do fear that it will squash any and all future ambitions for GC riders to attempt, which of course is a bad thing as it will always mean the best GT (GIRO IMHO) will never get the 5 star riders, and the most commercialised GT (TDF) will forever reign supreme. Head says Tom D will survive the onslaught but heart wants Pinot to triumph. Anyone in the top 5 on GC must have a chance. Internet will explode if Nibali wins this race again. The fight between the two major disciplines climbing and TT makes things exciting. If TD has a small deficit going into the final TT it is going to be a hum dinger of a final stage.
