The 100th Giro d'Italia

So from the massive press hype of going to win the double, chance are highly likely he will end up doing worse than Contador did in his attempt and end up crying at home with nothing to show for it.

As happy as i would be with that result, i do fear that it will squash any and all future ambitions for GC riders to attempt, which of course is a bad thing as it will always mean the best GT (GIRO IMHO) will never get the 5 star riders, and the most commercialised GT (TDF) will forever reign supreme.

Honestly, Quintana or Nibbles have nothing to lose - they have Grand Tour wins on their palmarès.

Dumy has everything to lose

D-Day for Tommy D...i for one hope he can outwit, outplay and outlast (cant believe i just used that, i am ashamed). If not him, then i am backing Pinot (i kinda like the guy).

Looks like everyone hates Quintana all of a sudden...

Not too long ago everyone loved the little smurf.

because we never saw him, he was sitting on froomeys wheel the whole time. Out of sight, out of mind

Massive stage today and in my humble opinion we can see the race decided. Movistar must go all in simply because of the amount of time that NQ needs on Tom D.

Head says Tom D will survive the onslaught but heart wants Pinot to triumph. Anyone in the top 5 on GC must have a chance. Internet will explode if Nibali wins this race again.

Interesting observations on twitter about which teams and riders rode long sleeves yesterday even though it was in the high twenties [emoji1]

Always fun to watch the tour* and also to follow all the side shows!

*Edit: I guess I should call it the giro as the tour is probably for le tour de france.

Or in the Columbian mountains far far far away from WADA. Don't think anti drug people get very far in Columbia.

Pinot would be cool.

Could be interesting if TommyD loses time to the other dudes, and goes into the TT with a deficit.

Would be the perfect finish for the organisers, last rider out against the clock. Shades of Fignon and Lemond in Paris.

I disliked him before it was cool. Think it was very obvious.

Same here.

And this "everyone" who's this "everyone", love absolutes.

Many hubbers then.

So in summary who were the long vs short sleeved warriors? Could be fun to map with performance today? And for my next trick, this week's winning Lotto numbers are....!

It is really good to see a race were the climbers are not running away with it. I think that if races were more like this it would bring back the spectators.

The fight between the two major disciplines climbing and TT makes things exciting.

If TD has a small deficit going into the final TT it is going to be a hum dinger of a final stage.
