Meentb Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 A friend of mine sent me this. He saw it when he cleaned his bike. Its a 2016 Spez Camber. Its located within the triangle so a stone could not have been the cause. He said it looked more like a blister. Then after time it lokkwd like this. What could possibly be the cause and what is your recommendation? Thanks Fyi he is vwry hapoy with the bike and yes its passed its 6months return date ????

Headshot Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 That looks like a paint issue to me. Well above the carbon and resin I would say so probably no cause for concern. I have similar but worse damage on my carbon frame, but its under the BB area and caused by rocks off the front wheel. I just painted over it with car touch up paint.

Wouldn't be too worried,but take it to a spez dealer and ask them to take a look. Obviously not a chip if it started out as a "blister". Carbon frames do weird things Edit: Raw aluminium for me, no issues regarding paint
