Iwan Kemp Posted October 13, 2016 Share Cannondale have been brave with the new Scalpel-Si. While many manufacturers remain committed to the traditional cross-country / marathon bike formula, Cannondale have clearly taken a page from the progressive geometry book, packaging it into a serious race bike. We can only hope that this translates to fewer queues and more smiles on the single track at our local marathon events.Click here to view the article Suidwes Boytjie and nickc
Headshot Posted October 13, 2016 Share In my opinion, a 69.5 degree HA is hardly ground breaking, but i suppose in the marathon world it is. 71 degrees is just plain ludicrous on a bike that claims to be for riding up and down mountains. How quick are bike companies to launch Boost hub spacing and other standard altering developments but so slow (in many cases) to design better handling bikes? nonky and Odinson

nickc Posted October 13, 2016 Share Hey Dale, my buddy just got the same bike last week, doing his first race at Magoebaskloof on it with us on the 5th Nov. Has broken all his previous segment times at Modderfontein by huge amounts. I think you are going to enjoy it Makes my battered old Flash look old !! nonky Posted October 13, 2016 Share Love the brand, love the bike but simply too many proprietary components for me to take the plunge. I've desired a 'Dale since the rolled out fat alu frames in the previous century.

Chain-L Posted October 13, 2016 Share Did you weigh it in standard form? Without drop post and standard tyres?

RyanD Posted October 14, 2016 Share Confused, on the Cannondale Website it lists the scalpel 3 as having RR snakeskin tyres and 11/42. I have one on order and was swapping the cassette for a SRAM 10/42 with a 34 chainring. Please confirm which is correct as this report says it has an 11/46 as standard.
