I just got mine, was told 34t is max and replaced the XT with SRAM Eagle XX1 - very bling :P

I'll probably do the same or maybe XX1 when time to replace. The Shimano 11-46 feels like a poor mans Eagle. SRAM shifting is far superior. Only other change I've made was to shift lockout to left hand side instead of having everything on right hand side.

Also have shift lockout on left

Works well

Looks better too

What did you have to replace in order to run Eagle ? thinking of doing the same ?

I'm not 100% convinced on eagle yet.I know when you spend that much money you obliged to say it's fantastic.

There have been a couple of times on a ride when I'm grinding the 42 and change to the 50 I find it's just too small a gear and just spin.

I feel the gap is too big and perhaps sram should have offered a 10/46 or 10/48 instead.

Shimano 11-46 is the same except the shifting isn't as crisp. Gaps too big.

I'll probably settle for 10-42 SRAM with 34T ring.

Question: my bike has just gone in for its first service. 1230km down.

Was told they needed to replace the front wheel bearings, pivot and BB bearings.

Is this normal? I've heard bearings can dry out while in shipment but this seems a little ridiculous.

The bike itself is absolutely incredible, just hope all that awesomeness isn't coming the price of daintiness.

Keen to hear the rest of your experiences.

I've had bearings replaced as there was a kitten stuck inside the front wheel

Put it down to post-manufacturing issues

No other issues

How often is a service necessary, generally speaking?

Front wheel Cannondale squeak is a known issue. As soon as you hear it take the front wheel off and sort the squeak out. Grease is all that is needed with the wafer washer. If you leave it too long it can cause damaged bearings. Raemondo I have never had to replace pivot bearing that soon on any Scalpel. The BB bearings can be an issue depending on which model Scalpel you have. Some of them has ceramic bearings as standard and these normally don't last in our conditions. May I suggest you speak to Omnico regarding all these issues. It might be a warrantee issue.

A lot depends on the shop you bought your bike from.Too many shops just unbox a bike

Slap everything together and on the floor.

When I got my bike I striped it down an built it again.

One pivot was loose and a few bearings had no grease.

These issues should have been picked up by the shop I got bike from.

I've found this across brands and shops over the years so check everything yourself.

The lefty is more like an upgrade free of charge to customer but Omnico don't have the stock yet to do the upgrade.

They said they had to change the freebody I think. It also came with the lockout on the left hand side. I'm still not 100% how that works, does it only lock out the front or front and back?

Need XD to run SRAM 1x11 or 12. Lockout locks out both front and rear.
