WP12 Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Hi all Sorry if this video has been posted before but I enjoyed the material from the Durban Ironman. Hopefully I can be there next year!
ScottCM Posted July 18, 2017 Author Posted July 18, 2017 Only just hear that they had a highlight package on Supersport last night. Anyone know when it will be broadcast again? Supersport doesn't seem to have a category for multisport unless i'm just daft this morning.

Wil6 Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 Ok, so after a bet with my brother, I've got a sponsored entry for the 70.3 Ironman this year in Durban. The cycling I've got covered, but need some help and advise on the running and swimming, especially the swimming I have been running for about two times a week for two months now, but only 4km at a time. What gear do I need for the swimming?
ScottCM Posted January 25, 2018 Author Posted January 25, 2018 Rent a wetsuit from Terry at Xterra, Cap will be provided and purchase a good set of goggles. On the day relax as best you can and just enjoy the day

EmJayZA Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 Battling with motivation to train consistently. Last year I managed to train through the cold with no issues. This morning was almost impossible to get out of bed. Think work stress is a little out of hand. My running has been the only consistent part of my training. Saturday I had a 2.5 hour ride, and it just felt like was not worth the slog of packing everything and lugging it to the Cradle and back. The thought of sitting on a Wattbike is even less appealing. Most of my tri-club mates did IMSA, so they are not training, which makes it harder. Even the other 70.3 athletes in our group skipped their session today. 7 weeks and counting.

Maybe a bit over trained - sounds like a textbook example. Perhaps consider taking the weekend off, watch some movies, sleep in, eat whatever you want, etc etc. Just get some real good rest, and start again on Monday? Also, maybe for the next week or so leave the training watch at home, and just go do the miles without constant measurement.
shaper Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 Am taking the week off... let my body recover from IMSA and will think about Durbs after the weekend... my training for Durbs will be a long slow taper

@ndy Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 so... is it too soon to be looking forward to this? IRONMAN_70.3_Durban_-_2018-04-17_14.01.28.(2)png.pngDefinitely time to start getting excited. Especially after the PE FOMO I have been suffering with. I’m ramping up my training a little late after a prolonged holiday season but its going well.
