Bos Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Is he allowed to wear the stripes on the MTB? What does Nino have to say about this?It would be really cool if some of the roadies raced at some of the MTB races like Mathieu VAN DER POEL does. Will give one a good idea if they are all on the same level or not.

But like I said maybe Sagan will have time in the 2nd part of the year..let's hope. .. think some.xco will be good prep for road world champs [emoji39] Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
gummibear Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 You keep talking like that and I might just come gatecrash there by you. offer is open
'Dale Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Simon Spilak a dark horse to challenge for podium? That was an impressive display at TdSuisse. Let's see.
'Dale Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Then I read this clip from The Inner Ring. The segment in bold illustrates how brilliant the efforts are of the GC specialists. There are several reasons for this. First let’s start with Špilak and he’s going to the the Tour… of Poland rather than the Tour de France. That’s interesting alone, he’s just won a top mountain stage race but won’t do the Tour de France despite appearing in top shape. One main reason is he’s a specialist at one week stage races rather than grand tours (he’s a specialist in Swiss races because of his 12 career wins, half of them have come from the Tour de Suisse and the Tour de Romandie). His record in grand tours is less illustrious, his best performance is 48th place overall in the 2008 Giro and if he finished the Tour de France in 2009 he was DNF in 2010 and 2014. Grand tours are not for everyone to put it mildly, riders slip into a catabolic state the longer they race as the body begins break down from the relentless grind.

Two factors leap to mind why this doesn't happen: 1) There's no money in it2) The don't want to expose themselves to injury Although some do it for training / fun / R&R. Remember Tom Boonen got a bad elbow injury from a mtb accident that set him back a few years ago,

Some are sprinters, some are good time trialists and some are good climbers.

Remember Tom Boonen got a bad elbow injury from a mtb accident that set him back a few years ago, GvAvermaet broke an ankle in the pre-season too while playing in the dirt.It is the risk factor that keeps the PRO roadies away.Remember, this is their job and livelihood. Serving the team is what pays the bills.
Long Wheel Base Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 He he he.. worried Probably find he doesn't have normal Bora shirts with him.. plus not a race so all cool.. Sent from my SM-N9005 using TapatalkI read somewhere that the champ, since leaving cannondale has only worn proper team kit like 4 or 5 times. He has either had slovak champ kit or a leaders jersey of some sort or world champ jersey. And most of the times in team kit where in a TT.

Even at Cannondale he was hardly ever in standard team kit. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk

deanbean Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 Sagan honing his bike skills for TdF on the new Diverge. Unwinding after the TDS. But seriously. .can someone just wrap him in bubble wrap just as a precautionary measure.
