Eugene Oppelt Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Johnny D behind the scenes, stunning image of how tough Grand Tour cycling can be
gummibear Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 My caravan goodies stash from this years....thx to my kids[emoji106][emoji106][emoji3] Who else has free goodies ?
Pure Savage Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Eish Froomy getting Booed by the spectators [emoji15] The worst part of the TDF, is all the French people in France. Firstly booing someone, zero class. But booing someone for winning, while they are happy to cheer on known dopers. Pfff.

Plentipotential Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 The worst part of the TDF, is all the French people in France. Firstly booing someone, zero class. But booing someone for winning, while they are happy to cheer on known dopers. Pfff. French spectators showing zero class while Froome shows he is all class. I watch the tour every year and every year I hear commentators talking about isolating the yellow jersey. However when you look back in the group, all the contenders are themselves isolated. If I've learnt anything about cyclists it's that different GC contenders will very seldom work for each other against a common enemy. Unless Froome does something stupid, highly unlikely, or he has a crash/ bad day, this tour is his to win. I don't see any real threats in the rest of the pack. Froome showed a lot of composure yesterday, got a flat, relax, change a wheel, pull them back and at the end of the stage he chased Dan Martin. To beat Froome you are going to need a man on a horse, not dwarfs on pig's! And whilst I'm on my high horse, Louis needs more power in those legs. I hope he goes to DDD as a long term prospect for a new look DDD. Build a team to support him long term by starting in Spain then Italy and then on to France. By then Cavandish is long retired. But what do I know! I'm just a Lazyboy spectator, enthusiastic but in front of the TV.
CASSIE1975 Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Rest day Time for good coffee and try not to watch the clock A few pics to follow by Gruber, Vos and Ramon Does this mean we actually HAVE to work today
Pure Savage Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Shouted for Daryl until he had his pharmacist incident. Now cheer for the Main Cheese. Remember: We don't cheer for known dopers: Contador, Trentin, Valverde and GVA.
Bonus Posted July 17, 2017 Author Posted July 17, 2017 Rest day - I'm converting and editing the "roadside movies" I took on Thursday & Friday. It will take a while but when I'm done I'll post links on here. I certainly won't be winning any oscars but they do give you an idea of the excitement at the side of the road :-)
Wannabe Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 I predicted / asked the question right at the start of the TDF, that I hope Maincheese will not be following wheels around again. We all know he has it in him to attack on those long steep climbs, he showed it on stage 8 of the Criterium du Dauphine when he dropped everybody up the Plateau de Solaison, reeled in Bardet and passed him as if he was standing still. Just Martin and stage winner Fuglsang stayed ahead of him.If that was not a confidence booster, I don't know what is.But alas, we must agonise while we watch him follow Froome around..... COME ON LOUIS, SHOW US THAT YOU CAN!!

COME ON LOUIS, SHOW US THAT YOU CAN!! Maybe he is saving his legs for an attack up the Col d'Izoard on stage 18. Ideally suited for the lightly built climbers. Any time gained on Stage 18 will be very difficult for the competition the recover, bar the TT, where LM will again have to concede time against other GC contenders.

Cadre Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 The worst part of the TDF, is all the French people in France. Firstly booing someone, zero class. But booing someone for winning, while they are happy to cheer on known dopers. Pfff. Absolute disgusting behaviour by the French. If they want one of their own to win, stop inviting other Nations to compete!!!! No respect. Yet, I bet..comes the first lap of the Champs Elysees, the Peleton would most likely let Voeckler ride alone upfront as a gesture of respect for his lifetime achievement/dedication to the sport and Froome will probably be cheering him on as well. I am a big fan of both of them. It is just the bad form of the French spectators that is getting under my skin.
Patchelicious Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Hes managed to stick with the best of the best all of the Tour now. He can definitely manage an attack it's more about whether he wants to do this or whether he's just content with where he is. I suspect the latter. Not sure DDD is the best team for him. They signed Cavendish for a reason and I don't think Cav will be all too happy if they decide to refocus on GC. Unless of course he tries his hand at the Giro or Vuelta which is what I think he should do.It's not just about Cav, his TV time and hot wife. DD learnt this by almost losing their WT spot. They need LM and his points.
